Newest addition to the family...

Nothing makes me smile more than finishing a plane. I spent quite a bit of time building the mustang, well not too much but I only worked on her a little at a time.

Setup:
Re-timed Graupner 300
2S2P Kokam 1020
3 picos
ICS300
10X8 prop
R4P reciever
Flying weight is at 15oz.

I plan on the maiden being next Wed. or Thurs. as thats when I am supposed to get my new Futaba 9C. I really dont want to try to fly this beast without duals/expos. BUT, I might break down and take her out today, Ill let you guys know.

Hey Speed,

Very nice. What kind of paint did you use to paint that rubber nosecone? Did you paint the propeller too? Spraypaint?

Don't want to get an early start on Mother's Day

Jgmtens - Black Gloss Spray paint on the prop. I took care of all my GWS props last night. Lined them all up on a sheet of cardboard and sprayed the heck out of them. Id pay good money for someone that works at GWS to dump some black die into their prop plastic. The nose cone a plane are airbrushed with "GLOSS" acrylic enamel paint that can be found in the craft section at wallmart. I mixed it about 2/3 paint to 1/3 water.

wherndon - I hear you on that, I still have to get my mom something.

I just did some static testing, my first ever. I came up with about 8.6 Amps and it was pulling about 6.7 volts. Does this seam right? Thats roughly 57 static watts, which is about 3.8 watts/oz. Which would mean that I should have plenty of power, correct? Am I doing the calculations right?
