The answer from my experience is the case never gets warm so it does not rely much on it at all. Be sure to check the case temp though just in case. You can also check the exiting air temp.

Thanks. It's the same story with my MeanWell, but not having any experience with these HP supplies, I wasn't sure.

I thought I'd post a picture of my 47A setup. It works great! The banana plugs and wire came from my local hobby shop. The black prototype box came from Radio Shack.

Thanks!
Brian

Ok I just got my two 42amp power supplies. My new powerlab 8 is the 40amp output version (wow) So I am going use the amp limiting feature. But I need to connect the 2. All I have to do is keep the two charges from hiting each other b/c one now has 12 volts to the case and the other one is ground. OK I just need to diconnect the ground from one of the chargers and thats that. If so that sounds easy enough! Wish me luck!

EDIT: I found on the 42 amp version all you have to do to one of the supplies is undo one of the mounting screw and that ungrounds the case. Its the one that is at the end where yo hare soldering two and its the screw thats the closest to the edge of the cas. I pulle dout the tab that the screw threads into and placed a small peice of balsa there to keep it from grounding out. I will have to get a pic to show you all what Im talking about as im not that good at explaning things but it was very easy and I now dont have to worry about the two cases touching and blowing up my power supplies

using automotive connectors on 42A

Currently I'm using the PS as a 12v supply but will tie them together for 24v soon.

I didn't want to solder directly to the PS so I went the auto connector route (with insulation removed).

If I get the 12v 47a power source you are selling, will it be ok to hook my turnigy accucell6 that is rated for 12v 5a to. This is the only charger i have right now but i plan on buying a better charger in a few months and i know i am gonna need a good ps. So i am just wondering if this ps will damage my little charger.
Thanks, Chris

yes there is no issues hooking up a 12V charger to a 12V power supply. The 5amp rating of the charger is what it will pull MAX the power supply is Rated to supply from less than 1 amp all the way to 47 amps. So if you needed you can hook up Multiple chargers to that power supply

Feathermerchant, I put you power supplies to the test today. I put the powerlab8 up to 40amp charge to see what it could do. The power supplies handled it with no issues. They didnt even get hot! Great product and thank you!
