I've had my plane for a while, but I'm looking to paint it now. What types of spray paint have people used? I noticed someone used Krylon Fusion paint and they said it melted that foam. Has anyone used Krylon H20 Latex? If you've painted without melting I'd love to know what you used.

TESTORS, the small spray paint cans they use for plastic models, at hobby lobby or micheals. its the only spray paint that ive found thats totally safe. there are some rustoleum and fusion paints that doesnt eat foam and some do, just depends on what color you use. i just use testors cause its very good quality. it goes on with thin and light coats and ive never had it eat my foam. its expensive, but you get what you pay for

heres pics of my mini skyfun i painted with TESTORS, as you can see, it did no damage to the foam. even if you do find a rustoleum or krylon that doesnt eat foam, it goes on very thick and adds a lot of weight. TESTORS goes on very thin and covers well and is lightweight. so go with TESTORS, its worth it

This is my second Skyfun. The first one was only upgraded with bigger engine and esc. This one has a even bigger engine, bigger esc, and added vinyl graphics. The vinyl is carbon and red. It is also reinforced with carbon rods in every direction.
Setup:
Turnigy 2836-2350 (some have measured this motor to be 2800kv)
RCtimer 100A ESC
RCtimer 3A separate BEC
Turnigy Nano-Tech 2200mah 3S
Dragonlink
Turnigy servos
Motormount is from a Hobbyking Go-Kart

With 7X6 prop, it should draw about 82A and 770W
With 8X6 prop, it should draw about 104A and 950W

So how fast will this go? Maiden is planned on tuesday.

The graphics is from decal sheets from Hobbyking. The red vinyl is from ebay. The carbon vinyl is from a local car tuning shop, but it is just regular carbon 3D vinyl you van find on ebay.

Wrecked my skyfun started to rain and just lost it in the woods. About to order another as this thing is too much fun. What are you guys using to paint with? Anything going on before you spray?

RemiWM, Looks great. That will be a fun ride.

cloudflying, Sorry for your loss. Did you read the post about 3 above your question?
I've had good luck with Krylon Short Cuts. Use those 40% off coupons from Michael's, available online.

If you want to go quick and easy, get some flourescent orange duct tape at Walmart. Top wing tips, leading edge and fins. I've done several planes that way for visibility.
When finished, shoot the whole plane with 4 coats of Polycrylic for a little skin toughening.

And, of course, there's always airbrushing acrylics.

this is the colors i had my old funjet painted at one time, and it was the easiest plane ive ever had to see. dark fueselage with very light wingtips. i could see those light wingtips sticking out from a mile away. white on top and yellow on bottom, i always new which side was up. it works ten times better than neon colors

no, unfortunatly. i like the old funjet much more. its lighter, and flys better. plan to sell my ultra. heres some of the other models ive painted. going to paint the flyjet x-830 in the future. it flys just a good as the old funjet, its also a lot tougher than the funjet. doesnt have all those molding spots on the foam. the x-83 is a very nice kit. its nice to show you, your old funjet is still flying high jeff

Yes.
I use a rather large nail to mix and apply and then clean up everything with rubbing alcohol.
