poiyt,
You know you can buy everything needed to build a Stryker C for under $60, yes?
I personally think it's better suited to "overstuffing".

I do love my SkyFun though.

Here is a video of mine from yesterday (and of me crashing my x-5 wing )

my setup:
Turnigy 2632 Brushless Motor 3400kv
Turnigy Trust 45A ESC
3s2200 25c Zippy

I have not measured the speed yet but I think it's amazingly fast for 3s
The battery does get a bit hot and puffy though..

X-5 crash and Skyfun fun (1 min 29 sec)

My friend had an old (somewhat unreliable) radar gun out this last weekend and I was only hitting around 60mph. Still tons of fun

Well, yeah, but I already have a Stryker C.... and to rebuld the Styker Q would be waaaaaay more than $60 (freakin airframe alone is $85!!!)

So I was lookin at what other models could accept this power setup

Anybody else???

I have a Stryker-Q oem motor

What's the lightest anybody has ever built a skyfun? I've got the kit version on the slow boat from HK, and plan to make it a 3d/slowflyer for some high alpha fun (ie "Stryker how light can you go" thread).

The bare skyfun air frame weighs around 300g, yet some of these lightweight strykers are managing AUW of 300g or less... The air frame is very strong from what I remember of my first skyfun, so no carbon just a little tape, 850mah nano tech 3s and Suppo 2208 1450kv 38g motor and 8x4e or 8x4.3sf. 9g servos, big 2-3" 6mm depron elevons. Can't imagine it being too much less than 400-450g with a couple LED strips.

I'm pretty sure she will fly nice, a little different to the 1100g stall-Queen skyfun I retired ages ago

hey jeff, hows it going man? doing good here. i want you to know, that because of that funjet you sold me, ive been loving it so much, i now have 3 of them, + a stryker-c. that good deal you gave me on those planes has turned out to be very expensive for me. i liked it so much, ive bought the new funjet ultra, the stryker-c, and the flyjet x-830 from HK. the flyjet x-830 from HK for $40 is a great little plane. its almost the same thing as the funjet, just a few differences. you should check it out, you can run an edf or prop. that power setup you have would work good in the flyjet. the funjet you sold me is still flyin high, a little beat up, but still tearring up the sky. glad to hear from you, call me sometime

I've joined the Skyfun club

Received mine yesterday from HK via Singapore Post after 17 days shipping; the box was squished at one end and had a big hole punched in it at one side; amazingly the plane seems fine but that's the second and last time I use Singapore Post, both times it took almost 3 weeks and it arrived all messed up. Much better to buy from HK USA for the few extra bucks.

Mine's the bare-bones version and I'm going to use hot glue and packing tape; I'll also replace the elevon surfaces with balsa and add CF tubes in the slots provided.

I'm going with this motor initially (because I have one), should be good for 600W on an 1800 mAHr Turnigy Nano-Tech 4S (35-70C rating) on a 4.75 x 4.75 although that prop might be a bit too small.

I'll post some pics when she's built.

mini skyfun

heres my mini skyfun. i just finished building it and maidened the other day. its a great little flyer, fun and fast. id like to get my hands on the big skyfun, im sure its a great kit, if its anything like the smaler one. i ordered the x-830 and the parkjet from HK, and these are the 2 nicest kits ive ever had. the quality of the foam, and the whole kit is just excellent. im sure the skyfun is very nice as well. a lot of people who own the mini, have problems with launching theirs, as far as i know, everyone who mounts their motors behind, and level with the fueselage dont have any launch issues. i had none with mine. is there any issues like that with the skyfun?
