Do you know where I can buy a 6X4 pusher prop like the original one. I only have around 200W power
There is no difference, as long as the prop is facing the right way and spinning the right way then it will do its job. A 6x4E might do a better job at that power level... but then it might not

oops sorry see this thread. 3S 2836-3200 and 6x4 works great, 100mph+ but make sure your esc and lipo can do 60A+

I made some test with this motor : http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=2110

Measurement taken with a WATT'S UP meter

Original prop. 14A 11V 154W
6X4 prop 12.85A 11.15V 144W
6X5 prop 13.16A 11.1V 146W

Original motor with original prop
Pusher 7.28A 11.23V 82W

The letters on the prop are facing the nose of the plane and motor turn CW view from the rear of the plane . On original prop number 2 is facing back

Hi guys.
Do you think this plane needs further structural reinforcements? for higher speeds. And should it be glassed? I see that there is a groove underneath the wing, is it for a carbon spar?
What is the fastest equipment (motor, prop, Lipos) you got

Here is my skyfun in action:
Playing Chicken with a Wind Turbine FPV (2 min 37 sec)

The Best... Revision B (4 min 58 sec)

This is an FPV plane, completely piloted through video goggles.

Personally, and with the amount of times i've crashed/landed rough and otherwise just ratbagged this plane, I dont think any structural improvements are needed. Replace the motor mount. Replace the wing servos, motor and esc. I've been flying this setup for over a year. It has been one of the most reliable fun planes I've ever had.

What motor and prop and battery? How long a flight time are you getting? I just changed my 2200 mah for a 5000 mah and want to get long flight times, I use a 9 X 4.5 so I want suggestions on how to prop it. The motor is a turnigy 35-30-1700.

Thanks

Mark

originally setup with a 2826-6 2200kv motor from ebay, 11.1 2450mah 35c lipo and 6x5e prop. Now I've changed things around a bit. I run a 3000mah 7.4c 35c lipo, same 2826-6 2200kv and 8x6APC prop. Same thrust, a bit less speed, but wayyyy more efficient. I can come in from a full throttle run, with motor and esc barely warm. This allows me to carry a 11.1v 1000mah battery to power my video gear separately from motor battery. Less video noise this way.

I guess this is the skyfun thread so I'll post here...

What kind of AUW is everybody getting with their skyfuns? I dusted mine off for some windy slope flying... and the bare airframe with coro elevons, hxt900's, 3mm carbon in the wing grooves, Rx and no engine mount all comes to 400g / 14oz. plan to run rhino 1250 3s 30c, 30a esc, ubec, rctimer 2826-6 and 6x4 sport and all that is another 260g / 9oz.
I used hot glue on the elevons and servos but otherwise it seems a lot heavier than a stryker. I know its a skyartec not a parkzone but does that sound right?

my "project" :D

I have this come in from HK few weeks ago. and am working on this project. reading Funjet thread as well.

1. How is this plane different as compared to Funjet?
2. I plan to fly it stock first, but also following these threads for any improvements.
3. Question: If i do move to 2836 with 4.5x4.5 prop; would i need a bungee to launch, also is it a good move?

So far I love the videos that you guys have posted. Can you describe your video setup as well. thanx!

1. It's nothing like a multiplex funjet, but a lot like a parkzone stryker.

3. Definitely need a bungee on a 4.5" prop, not enough thrust! Use at least a 6x4 prop for the skyfun... 7" props even better. for 6x4, 2836-3200 for 3s or 2836-2350 for 4s. 100mph+

Well I got bored of the RCtimer 2826-6... so I went a little silly on the skyfun today!

Going to run a 36mm outrunner, turnigy H3126. Have 1300kv & 1600kv to try, with either 4S 3600 40C or 6S 2200 40C and 6.5x5.0, 6.5x6.0, 6.5x6.5 pylon, 7x6, 7x7, 7x8 sport props... Im sure there will be a few good combos in there.

6mm round cf tube from nose to tail, 4mm round cf tube in the leading edges, 6mm square cf across the wingspan, and 6mm square cf in the trailing edges. Couple 4mm tubes across the battery compartment too, and 4mm round tube in the verts - might switch to wood verts though.

Used CA glue to hold all the CF together, and I'm making a ghetto engine mount from 6mm plywood with the trailing edge CF and span CF all linked to it.

Its solid as a rock just need to sort out some elevons. hxt900's will be swapped with turnigy 15gram metal gear servos. Will hit the bottom and verts with finishing epoxy for a little extra strength

thats an awful low kv motor to use, prop would be a prob, need something in at least 2200+ range like the 2836-3200 with a 5.5 prop or the 2836 2250 with a 6x4 sport(not e) prop.if you want to go really fast try a mega 16/15/3 or 16/15/2 they are kinda pricey but run well when propped right.i have a mega 22/30/2 going in a stryker i hope to see 140+ out of.i'm told it should do it,also you need a good esc for speed,i have a 200a in mine also lots of carbon rods from wing tip to wing tip for support.the faster you go the more work the frame needs

I'm gonna try the 1600kv motor (which might be 1700kv+ knowing turnigy) on 6s with 6.5x5.0 ... haven't spun it like this yet but that could easily pull around 1600w, which is about the limit for my whole power system. If not - prop up!

Almost ready for a testflight, but can't find any good balsa for elevons! not at huge hardware stores, LHS etc...its all too soft, not much better than foam or 3mm ply... might just use some oak or something real hard... hmmm, alum?
