I have a turnigy trust card but I dont think that will work with this esc
The Turnigy Trust Card is the correct programming card for the ESC,

There is a SkyArtec card too. I have one I used for the music on my Cessna.
You can Google search skyartec esc programming card

Build finished

A couple of pics of the finished model.
Got to say there were a few changes made.
Replaced the servos with HXT900's and mounted them on top of the wing.
One of the stock clevises broke so I replaced the control rods with larger ones of 1.8mm and fitted larger clevises.
Swapped the stock motor for the 2200Kv 2212-6.
I removed the hinge tape on the elevons and replaced that with plastic hinges , 10 on each side . There might be better ways of hinging but this is what I had in my spares box
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._5_10pcs_.html
I used a length of 2mm CF rod to stiffen the elevons
Gave the underside a high vis paint job.
I added a few extra magnets to the back of the canopy . In the front I glued a plastic hook as far forward inside the fuselage as I could and then glued a 45mm long piece of CF rod inside the front of the canopy so only about 10mm
sticks out so I can use a rubber band to hold down the front of the canopy.
The angle the rubber band is at pulls the canopy forward as well as down , it acts like a spring loaded hinge and if you lift up the back of the canopy it will spring down when let go.
I have not flight tested this yet but I think it should keep the canopy in place very well.
This is an awesome looking plane and I cant wait for the maiden

Nice visible paintjob. They get small real fast.

Here's what I did with my replacement after a couple of successful flights:

Hi Guys,

I maidened my Skyfun two weekends ago, I did not use a stock set up to start with I had a 2825-1950kv motor here with a 30amp Plush esc and 2200mah 40c 3s and 6x4 APC prop (very flyable ,good to learn with), Performance was ok and it let me sort out the CG and trim with out any hassles.
Power was measured with "watts up" static 291w and 19amp @wot.

Now for the upgrade I got a 2836-2350 with HK60amp esc (sweet bronze looking one) and APC 6x4E static measured is 3s 2200mah Turnigy 40c battery, 488w 40.8 amp @WOT runs cool
4s 2200mah Turnigy Battery APC 6x4E 890w 60.2amp static @WOT did not check temp due to amp draw.

Does these figures sound right?

Also the motor hesitates and grounches as you start to open the throttle for a milli second then sings away very happy with no problems is there a problem?

I am looking forward to testing this weekend

Thanks,

Shaun.

Maidened my 2nd SkyFun in full stock ARF form. Had a beginner with me and wanted him to see how it flew out of the box.
He wants one ;o)

It's a very capable flyer stock, which I doubted it would be.
Running 1000mah 3s it flies great. Plenty of flight time.

After 2 batts I really craved a bit more power.
I'm going to match it up with my 2836 3200 Stryker and do a head to head comparison.
Anxious to see how that turns out.
The SkyFun is fun and crisp and floaty. Like it a lot.

Looking for ideas to add ventilation to the cockpit. I read it can cause the canopy
to come off in flight. I'm using rare earth magnets on my canopy. Thanks for any input.

But it's not wish list items.
It's out of stock items where you drop in your email on the product page to receive in stock notices.
I don't know of a way to stop them either but he says it stops after the 4th restock.

Its maddening to me also....it USED to show up in account settings under EMAIL notifications...that stopped about a year ago....just have to put up with the repeating notices...HobbyKing is no help...they say look in your account under email notices and disable the individual notices...but they don't appear there any more...

Maidened mine this morning and it flys great .
A lot easier than I thought it was going to be , it just seems to float around the sky .
Did a couple of circuits on the maiden just to get the feel of it then had a bit more of a play on the second flight .
The third flight was ended after I got a bit casual with my launch and the prop hit my finger , a couple of cuts but not too bad.
I will launch this by holding the wing from now on and not use the finger holes under the fuse.
After flying the AXN clouds fly for a few weeks I found it easy to fly the Skyfun and it could now be my favorite of the two (even though it bit me )
