Other than time.... is this method safe?

I usually do large orders and the EMS shipping is quite economical. ($350 order, +$50 shipping.. would be $800 worth of stuff if bought in the US.) However, I need to order one SK35-30-1100 which is only $19. EMS is ANOTHER $19. I can do International (Registered) Air Mail 101-200g for $7.80.

I'm not in a hurry for the motor.. It will be at least a month before I need it, maybe more like 2 months.

On smaller items, I use the International Registered Airmail option to save money. Delivery time takes anywhere from a week to nearly three weeks depending on the season. I never have had a problem using this option - just make sure you click on the "Registered Airmail" option.

The tracking number, eg RB100123526HK, can also be tracked via USPS tracking (http://www.usps.com/cttgate/) using this shipping method.

Safe... relatively fast.

I only use Airmail, both registered and unregistered. After 50 or so orders from hk, I have not had a single problem. EMS, IMO, is a ripoff.

I've used pretty much every shipping option they offer, from $3 to $30. No problems with any of them (plenty of other problems in 2006-2008, seems to have gotten better in 2009)

What are your delivery times like?? Typical 2 weeks?

Except for the holiday season, my delivery times are consistently between 9 and 11 days. During the holidays, Hong Kong Post is backed up which typically adds at least another week.

Well, that doesn't seem to bad at all. I"ve had US vendors take longer than that before!!! (not very often, though)

There have been times when HK got behind because of their explosive sales growth coupled with their inability to update their order handling/shipping systems quickly enough to handle the growth. They appear to have gotten a hold of their supply side issues now and are pretty efficient. Turnaround in the last year or so has consistently been 48 hours or less for me (except of course during holidays like Chinese New Year and Christmas) and like I said, total delivery time is generally no more than a week and a half. Hong Kong Post is especially slow this holiday season.

As long as you are not in a hurry the air mail option is the best overall value. Sometimes air mail arrives in less than a week sometimes more. I did have a nineteen day or so wait, but, this was a Hong Kong post issue.

I buy my items and they arrive eventually. If I need something quick I pay the price.
