I have a pen cam that won't work, and I'm guessing they're the least reliable of all these small cheapy camcorders, so I'm going to try a different type. How do the gum and keyfob cams compare (video quality, reliability, usability)? The keyfob v3 can take up to 16gb mSD. What about the gum cam?
Has anyone tried the cigarette lighter cam?

On following the instructions (i.e. 'Driver' installed, 'USB' connected, 'Mode' button pressed, and 'Amcap' icon double-clicked etc.,) all I see in the window is a grainy picture (after pressing 'Preview' in the Options).

I don't have the necessary Micor SD card as yet (ordered), however, it should still work, shouldn't it? I'm in Europe, so wondering do I need to change the video settings.

Hope you can guide me through the setup that you used?

Connect USB to computer, turn the camera on, select video, make sure windows recognizes the usb device and installs the driver successfully, click the main/mode button just one time , you should hear a blib voice from your computer speaker. Run the Amcam , you should be able to see pictures that comes to camera. otherwise click device menu in the Amcam .see if you have "SPAC 1528 Video Camera Device" checked. If not close the Amcam and start over. By the way I have a GUM CAM and I am using windows xp and it dosn't work without MicroSD.

Fix for the date on the DM80

OK, I think this will work. Modify the TAG.TXT file like previously instructed. Make sure you save it as a .TXT file to the DCIM subdirectory. I tried saving it to the root directory and it did not change the date or time, so I saved it to the DCIM subdirectory and mine kept the date and time, even when turned off by the power button.

Hi Fdaremi

Just did all the above you said...and...ureka worked a treat...many thanks for the help.

I finally got the memory card also (4Gb) and ran a video in it...and it ain't bad for this little camera. Had difficulty initially finding the resource drive/file for to view the video on my computer, however, it automatically loads this everytime I plug in the camera (with card inside it) through the USB.

I had my doubts about this camera initially because of its size and its pinhole lense would'nt be that good a picture, however, I have to admit for its low price as a low scale item, I thin it will suit very well for certain occassions.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi,
I'm new here
I have one of these gum type cameras, the date's stuck on 2008. I don't have a disc with it, I've managed to correctly insert the tag.txt file, but I don't have the "time synchronisation file" which according to the instructions is on the disc.

a) does anyone have a copy of this file they can email me?
and
b) where does it go, in the root or in DCIM?

Many thanks

Caz

I think I've very nearly sorted it, I was doing a couple of things wrong, now it's OK, until I turn it off and it reverts to 2008

Thanks for looking
