Battleship

Got my first smartphone just after Christmas - the Samsung Galaxy Nexus which has a large, 4.67" SuperAMOLED screen. Took a chance and rented Battleship just to see how an HD movie looked/sounded on a portable device.

Not expecting a great flick - it wasn't. It was entertaining and worth a rental (cost me $4.99 via Google). You get up to 30 days to start watching your selection and once you hit start, you then have 24 hours to view it unlimited times.

I read some HiDef magazine reviews on this film and they were generally favorable, giving it a "Recommended" rating. Video and audio quality were surprisingly good so I may opt to buy it (Amazon lists it for $20). My AVR is a bit old and can't decode the latest audio codecs. Wife doesn't like it when I play movies "at volume"...

I saw battleship and was in Hawaii when they filmed it. Got in the elevator and I think the entire camera crew with equipment got in with me.

Thought it was a fun movie and it did look nice. Not Oscar material but a great popcorn goofy sci-fi flick

I have been seeing the marketing for Taken 2. I am not interested at all. Taken was awesome. There is no way Taken 2 can be worth seeing.

It was quite good. My wife liked it and after coming to terms with the fact that the story line was not what I expected, I'll say that I also liked it. Certainly no action blockbuster like I anticipated.

I'm still waiting. I'll have to admit, I'm starting to get a little tired of watching "Gladiator." Still not quite there, yet.

Merely entertaining. My friend saw this movie and thought it was god's gift to cinema.
It wasn't bad, worth seeing, but not great.

10 sci-fi movies coming in 2013! I've read three of the Ender's Game books (there's 13!) and that movie may be good. http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/2285...ard-to-in-2013
