Hi Mon,

I see what your thinking but in reality a mechanical gyro would be hard to fabricate, let alone control in a banked turn or quick change of direction. The precession of the gyro would also effect the handling of the heli somewhat or completely depending on speed and mass. Also the energy required for the gyro would ultimately come from the heli reducing its power and flight time further, not to mention the added weight of another flywheel. I think using the existing free weight of the battery would be the best option.

I was thinking more along the lines of a pivoted cradle with two degrees of freedom ( pitch & roll ). Both allowed to rotate a few degrees in what available space you have under the main gear. Think of a ship compass
maybe.

Edit: Did a little model quickly to show what I was thinking.

juergen; did you buy it in germany or china ? i am searching for a cheap source for that kind of camera in germany, because everything i order from china is charged by german customs, which will not even make things expensive but also delays deliverys from one week to 4 weeks
if you found a german dealer i would aprreciate some info (maybe PM me)

Hi Klaus,
I ordered my key chain camera in China as I do with most of my Walkera parts. Never experienced any problems with customs. Boxes this small ususally miss customs. Delivery time has always been 7-10days.

What battery are you using to power the camera? Are you splitting the power form the main battery?

The heli and the camera are sharing on one Lipo Battery. The lipo bat has two connectors soldered to it. 1 the micro deans type which connects to the heli's ESC and RX module and the other one the standard walkera power connector which acts both as cam power connector and a charger connector.

I see what you mean. Would soft rubber work as mounts (bushing type) instead of hinges ?

Guys, by the way there are three versions of the key chain camera. The first two were the old ones which is indicated by a white font on the timestamp. The latest version uses a yellow font for the embedded time and date.

is there a way to remove that date. Also i heard that the cam can only store 4gb of data. Beyond that it will overwrite what was originally stored due to the FAT32 limitation ?
