Rules rules rules

A planes flying low and a tree blocks timers sight for less than10
seconds and a sound makes the timer think it hit the tree so he stops
the clock (hitting a ground based object) the plane shortly reappears
flying normally on the other side. Does the timer need tyo see the hit
or just hear it?

RE: Rules rules rules

In my opinion if the time was less than 10 seconds this is a timer error.
In the AMA rules it is not exactly clear what to do in this case. In the
FAI rules a timing error is cause for reflight.

If this happened to me I would just restart the clock. In actuality you
will have flown for more time than necessary because the clock was not
running for a period of time so it is not an advantage to stop and restart
the clock.
