Diggin it!!! Read the entire thread. All those abbreviations confuse the hell outta me.

Would like to build a lite stryker that can handle the wind. So not sure the OZ range i should shoot for.

Also my batt charger only goes down to 3cell.

Any new products out? New lighter servos or stuff like that?

Love to place an order for parts. Just dont know what the heck to buy.

Motor, electronic speed controller, 2 servos, propellers
, add this setup to whatever receiver you have and you are good to go.
If you need to buy batteries, then go with either 800mAh 3s or 500mAh 3s.
I linked to a different source for the batteries because it takes forever to get batteries from China through Hobby King.
What kind of radio are you using? Maybe I could point you toward a good receiver also.

Here is a not so good video of my 11.7 ounce light stryker with more throttle. My camera man had trouble keeping up so it is not a great video but it will give you a idea of what these thing con do when you open up the throttle. It has a similar set up of what murman just posted.

11 ounce stryker fast flight (0 min 51 sec)

Finding a different source for that motor will be difficult. You can get similar servos and speed controllers elsewhere, but you will pay more for them. I would just place your order from Hobby King asap while everything is in stock and patiently wait 2 or 3 weeks for it to arrive. I think the long wait is well worth the money saved.

For a motor, ESC, prop, etc., here's a good company based in Florida with some choices, and good info. Here's a motor choice for the LW Stryker:

Also, I'd stay away from the DX6 (it's a little outdated and is getting harder to find DSM receivers for it). I'd suggest the DX6i (DSM2) which is the replacement and fully supported.

DX6i thank you for that.

I guess ill patiently and excitedly wait. Think i should order 2 different sized motors and ESC's so i could play around with different setups?

Zaurak, I was going to refer him to Headsup Rc, but they didn't stock the 1500kv version of that motor. The motor you linked to will fly the Stryker, but won't have as much thrust. I'm hoping Jeff will start stocking the 1500kv version soon so won't have to wait for them to ship from China.

Is a 1500kv motor enough for super floaty and also a little faster flight? Or should i buy 2 motors?

Might just buy ton of stuff from HK. Be nice to make the superCub brushless

The videos on the first page and the last video were both flown on the 1500.

Wopa, that 24g, 1500kv motor is about as light as you can get and still have enough power for a plane the size of the Stryker. For the price, you won't find a better motor.
