Mike/ Tug,
yes the RMG winch is in front of the mast.. it's was only 6 to 10mph max, and my bow blew under only once..but it's odd that other days I come in bone dry.. Last night I did find a little hairline seam where the trim is starting to peel back from the deck for a couple three inches at the point the main deck meets the hull. I I will try to confirm that's really where the problem lies with the aquarium pump. . I thought it was a patch that was lifting near the access to the rudder two weeks ago .. but that's not it .. the goldfish died last week, and wife's been sick of looking at my boats and planes cluttering the garage for years......so I'll see if I can pin point it and temp patch it with a vinyl patch or CA soon..

Was at the Pond practicing today.. My friend thinks its normal to take on a little water thru the sheet line access holes etc..it came out after an hour bone dry again today.. but was only 4 to 6 mph.. I'll know soon if there is a crack..

yes I was wondering exactly that .. it's a lot more stable than a heli, or FPV plane/ gyrocopter.

I assume the balloon is tethered to an anchor line and.. buoy, but wonder how they can stabilize and pan/tilt the camera/ or camcorder around? .. I'm guessing it's RC controlled ,,, I'd like to know more about it and if under about $200 will propose the sail club invest in one down here at our Pond..we bought a buncha fancy flags so this baloon would seem a lot more practical to me..

as a cheap alternative I may try to get an OK to tape an 808 keychain cam to a party Baloon and attaching it to the Weather mark next Points Race .. no telling what we'd get..for footage tho. I think the close up footage at water-level from the boats? near the marks is really great too

Those aerial shots are great. I have seen some great shots posted on different IOM pages on Facebook and now I know the secret !!!

It's probably a weather balloon so it's stable.!

I see it has a little diaper on it to stabilize it's orientation to the wind..
Here's one for $68.00 that's re-usable and good to the edge of space (per one reviewer) I'm tempted to get one of these.. looks like there are several options, Want to see what kind of shots you can get over the weather mark..

this can easily lift a GoPro, and now that they can be under "wireless" control you can save the battery between races. Should be interesting to see..

Does anyone remember the original Prisoner series. I think the Village was hidden along the coast of Croatia. I would stay away from those balloons

I was a boy then and never understood the series but watched every week.
