My son and I sailed our Britpops for the first time today, not only are they beautifully built they sail really nice. It was just a practice day so no scores to talk about.

The part we both really liked was the boats ability to follow the wind shifts with little or no rudder required. Winds were mostly around 10 with a few puffs near 15.

More as we get into the racing season in a few weeks....bye for now gotta go polish my boat.

Robot Yachts, James Edwards, built the boats. I don't have any good pictures yet, they look exactly like the blue boat Brad sailed last year except they aren't blue.

V-7 drain hole

Where do i put a drain hole on my V-7? Right now it does not leak but it probably will.

I am very satisfied with the boat. it is very forgiving and fast. It makes up for my mistakes and comes from behind nicely. It points high and carries the #1 rig much better than I expected in the top wind range.

Hi Ron,
If you drill a hole in the sten end (transom) you may not be able to use a bung as it could make it over length so you would have to use a patch just something to consider

V7 is similar to the TS2 at the stern very shallow deck to hull for the plug, put the plug on deck right behind the bow bumper,it's easy to hold the boat down by the dull side of the keel and won't snag on anything up there, plus you can see it when you've forgotten to put it in.

Tug-

Eric Arndt, aka Houdini 13, stopped by quickly last weekend with his hot-off-the-press britpop hull #2 from Pepe in Spain for its 1st splash and it was a beautiful white molding. Vinaixa Yachts look to be extremely well crafted. I have heard that he is the only builder of britpops that is using custom, cnc'ed aluminum molds. Ron Locke's V7, also from Pepe is beautiful as well!

I'm sure there all using CNC machined molds supplied by Brad http://www.robotyachts.co.uk/britpop.html Dennis Astbury Yachts also are one of the best around at moulding boats that's why Brad chose these builders for his design.
