thats a 17X8 on my mustang! Hacker makes great motors and you cant condemn someone supporting a local business. I will be following your thread closely----if things dont go right with my hanger 9 bird I will be going esm.

How involved is the conversion to electric? Does the standard Hacker mount simply bolt to the existing firewall or are modifications required?

Yeah Jim, very easy. Alot like the H9 planes, just assemble the frame to get the distance to the spinner backplate. Gonna be a slow go on this build, just got another plane(fei bao f-5). My garage is a mess of boxes and parts. I am off tomorrow so I need to get everything sorted out, and with x-mas next weekI have no time to think straight!!!

Sorry missed a question--no it is the new hanger 9 blue nosed 60 sized with a little paint work!

Ok I wasnt sure of the size, the scheme thru me off. Nice job!! The F-5 is a replacement of a recent sale(f-86), also in the last 2 mos. I sold my H9 mustang, p-40 and lost my great planes lancair due to motor cut out on take off. That sucked, lost power right on lift off had enough to turn back to the runway only a tree got in the way. Snapped the wings right in half. I should be back to the mustang the first week of Jan., trying to get it ready for the Az electric fest!

Well I am back to the mustang, put the f-5 on hold for a while. Started to finish up the one wing halve I started. Will start on the other half tomorrow. Should have them glued together and start on the fuse by the end of the week...

Got the wing together, I may swap out the nylon hardware for better quality stuff. Also may use higher torque servos on the flaps, I used standard on the airlerons, which should be fine. The wing is heavy, this plane is gonna be a tank when its done!!

I am amazed how large this thing is compared to the hangar 9 60 sized airframes, its only a 5 " w.s. diiference but seems so much larger!

Got the wing mounted to the fuse, just waiting for the belly pan to set and the wing will be done. Then I can concentrate on the fuse, this is one beautiful mustang!
