Made 9 very succesful flights off water yesterday and this morning , will post pics and plans as soon as I have sorted out some IT issues . Also got some nice video.

I've made some changes to the design since the build pics; added tip floats, added some more carbon to the wings, made some cosmetic changes and simplified the hull and battery tray (the battery does not need to go as far forward as I thought). I'll update the build pics when I have time.

anyone have a motor, esc and battery combo to really make this thing hum along and have some very good vertical. I was just looking for some suggestions. Thanks for your help!

Did you check the first post by Vleisie, he gives you the setup he used. I have used that combo in similar planes of similar weight and it had plenty of power.

Yes, the 2212-06 (2200kV) with an APC 6x4E prop will give you unlimited vertical with a 1250 - 2200mah 3S lipo. Just make sure the battery can sustain the amp draw without damage.

Agreed, the 2212-6 motor, 30A ESC, APC 6X4E and a 1300-2200 lipo really is the ticket for all of these pusher prop planes of up to a 30" wingspan. Good speed and unlimited vertical.

What are the parts on the plans that are next to the intake bulkhead that say "make 2" for? Am starting to cut out parts. Great model! Are you using 2s or 3s battery packs?

This is my guess. They might be the intake splash covers. Check out the build pics, it seems to show the postioning of them there.

Thats right, they are the splash covers, they fit inside the intakes for water operations. I'm going to increase the size of the corner cutouts on mine to improve airflow. I haven't had any water on them (21 flights now).

I'm using 3S 1250mah and 2200mah batteries.
