Cool
Micro Battle bot V2.0

Ok, made another battle bot today, using more HS55s. They still have the stupid wandering problem, so it's impossible to center them. But it works good

The flipper arm I have can easily flip a 75g box, which is good because the max weight is 75 grams for bots.

Here's some pics. I'll make another entry with a video.

Also, here's a video of a saw i'm working on to chomp through bots and flip them all around

Nice man, I was into the bots for years, even ran my own local events. Still help at the big shows from time to time. Let me know if you need any help, tips, or pointers. I am well versed in the 1lb bots.

Some of my work below.

Used to be an event in oregon but not sure if its still running. The Big 340lb bots are fighting at the combots cup in SF on the weekend of Dec 19.

Once I started building scratchbuilt foamies I wanted to start a foam bot type combat. Lots of bit's of foam going everywhere... much more visiual for the crowds vs the occasional piece that would fly off on on what was shown on TV.

Gears history, back then the lipo, and brushless was $300 easy......

I started as a bot guy, then moved to planes. Now that I build planes its hard to justify putting good equipment in something thats meant be destroyed......

Its extremely fun, building is great as theres no plans to follow, its all in your head, creative freedom.....

i've really enjoyed the antweight portion, uk and american, i guess it's called fairweight over here. anyways, i've been working on the arena today! really coming along nicely, it's of octagon shape with a pit, and 3" tall plexiglass walls!

Nice! Reminds me of the 'Antweight' class they featured a couple of times on the UK series Robot Wars. Now there's a show they should bring back!

Robot Wars Extreme 1 - Antweight Melee (4 min 4 sec)

Robot Wars Extreme 2 - Antweight Final (4 min 50 sec)

I too participate in battle bots, but I may not be any help 'cause I work on 120 pounders. Is foam a adequate material to use? It seems like a foam saw couldn't do diddly squat. Just a thought, I don't know...

Against other foam robots, yes, it can make for some interesting results, especially when it's got a coat of epoxy over it

The whole idea is to disable the robot, and/or remove their weapon- not make their lipo self destruct just less then 3ft. from us!
