Hey john
I'm a little confused I think but the Tweplica and Twist are basically the same plane just factory built and scratch built is the only difference, I've never owned a Twist 60 but I have seen the tweplica and T60 both fly in person with OS91's and they fly just fine I'm thinking the DLE 20 would be fantastic but I've never owned one of those either lol someone will chime in I'm sure and please post pics here of your tweplica as you go or the finished project if you can I would love to see it. Thanks

I think a DLE 20 on a 60 size twist would be great but I wondering if it was more in beteewn
the 60 and 150 size might be better for the purpose of wing loading. Say a 60 inch wing

The DLE 20 would be great in the 60. The only concern I would have would be prop clearance. I had a 1.25 Saito on my 60 and the 16" prop was just about to long.

I asked DaOldGuy to scale up the original Tweplica plans to the wingspan/area he suggested based upon his experience which is how the 58.17 span was arrived at. It is not that far off from the , now discontinued, Twist 150. Besides, the wing area of the 58" ws Tweplica is dead on in comparison to the other models out there geared for the DLE20 and potential 3D flying. Should work a treat!!!!!

Greg.

I think so, the 58" Tweplica roughly equates to a .90 size Twist, and that's perfect for a 20cc class gass engine!

I am building the tweplica 58" and will use a DLE 20 for power. We have 3 u-can-do 60 size airplanes with DLE 20 engines. It seems to be a great combination. The wing area is about the same. So if I thought if it would work I would buy one while I am building the 58" plane.
The DLE would need a 16" prop. The catalog talks about electric conversion and I wonder if the build would handle a Gasser.

I just measured the wing rib on the tweplica 58" and it mis 14.5" without the airelon. It is just a tad over 3" thick at the spar.

Ok, so Staples can't do a large enough print to build the 58" so it's tiled printing and taping. Going to make a few phone calls though to see if I can find a printer.

Hey AJ I've done the tile and tape things a few times myself and it works just fine, Staples wasn't able to do anything that big for me either but maybe a local printing company could help you out or even a place that does blue prints or mechanical drawings.
