plain retractable tx antenna 5/8 lambda for range improvement?
I'm using 35 MHZ and have already read a lot about extending the length of the rx antenna to 4,07m and let it hanging out of the plane in order to achieve greater range.
Like every radio mine uses a retractable/teleskopic antenna with around a metre size. Now do you think if i attached 3-5 aluminium tubes of decreasing size like these
to a plain retractable antenna with 5/8 lambda or something ( roughly 3 metres), this would significantly increase my range over the stock antenna?
any advise appreaciated!
PS: Do you think this is a better antenna http://www.inesun.com/show-2051,ES500YAGI.html for my 1.2GHZ Video Receiver than a simple 6-8dbi patch?

That yagi surely is better, but for long range, not in proximity. And, mandatory with a tracker, the beam is too narrow !
