All the parts you have listet cost €58.05 including the drive shaft but without prop blades, or approx. €70.- all together at list price.

# 22 4108 Antriebsverkleidung is just the Elapor parts.

There are no blue ABS parts. The white ABS parts are included in # 22 4111.

5th flight and my carbon fibre shaft is cracked. There was a noticeable change in sound and a close visual check revealed a hairline fracture along the shaft and a small spot with broken fibers:

Right!

Because it's now obvious the shaft is crappy, the only parts you need to order in case you'll fit your own motor are these:

733504 Mitnehmer, Blatthalter u.Spinner 35mm, X Multiplex 9,81 euro
224108 Antriebsverkleidung Xeno Multiplex 11,61 euro
224109 Kabinenhaube für Antrieb Xeno Multiplex 8,91 euro
224111 Klein- und Kunststoffteile Antrieb Xeno Multiplex 17,91 euro

+ find your own blades
+ find a good 4 mm shaft and something to attach it to the motorshaft

1 more question: are the original blades from Aeronaut and what is the space between the bladeholders? perhaps 6 or 8 mm?

Hi hobie

Its only a test before i order a titanium shaft. Today i tested it
only indoors, works great.
Its a composite from a 4mm steel and a 3mm carbon shaft
glue it with epoxy and glass bubbles and center it with a thin tape.

Here you can find more pics from my Power Set Evo 1:

Norbert ..... many thanks for your detailed reply ...... you really have had to do some major dismantling to get your power set re-built ..... I really feel MPX should give you new components to allow you you to replace all the damaged items in your photos (including the parts that had to be taken apart) ....... hopefully this would include a new shaft that will stand the stresses involved ......

Hi hobie, hi Joe

My other planes from MPX ( Acro Master , Blizzard , and Merlin )
and the power sets working great, this is my first problem
with a part from MPX and i am not alone with this problem.

I also use the 2nd Xeno Standart Power Set without problems
now i bought a 2d Tuning set ( not cheap ) to rebuilt this Evo Version
hope that it will working in the future and that i also could ( maybe ) help you
to build a working power set, its only a idea to find a working and cheap
solution
I will name it Composite- or Hybride-Shaft ( (c) by me )

I think there is no way that MPX give me the parts, but i hope,
MPX find a solution to fix this problem.

XENO is a great plane and one of my favorite wings

Greetings

Norbert , You have done a great job trying to fix the problem and should be congratulated ......

I have done a good amount of repair work on my drive set to get it flying but I really need a new Spinner assembly (mine was damaged during the shaft failure) ....... I have done my best to repair it but it really needs replacement ...... I need a new 3/4mm motor/shaft adaptor .... I have re-used the existing one but you can imagine it's not easy to remove the damaged shaft from the existing one ....... I of course need a new shaft but in the meantime have purchased some good quality CF 4mm material and I'm currently flying with this .... I would like to replace the existing bearing just in case .....

All the parts I mention above have been on order for me through my MPC dealer for two weeks now ..... he says I have little chance of getting anything from MPX without paying for it .... guess we will have to see ....

I too have a number of MPX models (now six in total) so I hope I will be treated well by MPX ...... all I want is a long term solution ......

Like you, I enjoy flying the XENO ...... it will be a fine plane ....

HI hobie

Thank you, i hope thiis "golden" EVO Tuning Set works also in
harder conditions during the testflights.
If my Power Set and the shaft works without problems i will change
the ESC settings from soft start to standard start ( 4 more fun )

I am not very happy with spinner and shaft stock parts from the kit.
during building the Standart Power Set i replaced the stock shaft
and use another quality carbonite shaft that works well.

Last night i tested a Simprop Precission Spinner Assemly,
working and sounds better than the stock parts,
now i braining to keep the folding prop in right or better start position.

i think MPX read this thread and also the tread in our german forum
in the meantime i have the 3rd powerset and enough parts bought
i think that is expensive enough 4 my "golden" power set
with Composite/Hybride-shaft ( (c) by me )
maybe MPX make a late X-mas present and send me a Kit from an other
plane.
( Dear MPX: My favorite plane: Cularis with Power Set )

Greetings

Norbert

Maybe a stupid question, but since the motorshaft is also 4 mm and there is no angle between the motorshaft and the carbon shaft, why not replace both by ONE metal shaft?

No stupid question at all. It just depends how easy it is, to get the original motor shaft removed.

Well; in most cases it won't be a big problem I guess
Edit: the Hyperion ZS2213 I was interrested in has a 3 mm shaft, but the bigger Z3007-26 has 4 mm:
http://www.hyperion-world.com/produc...ct/HP-Z3007-26
It's heavier, but comparable to the Tuning setup and the extra weight is on the right spot

Check www.conrad.de art. 237060 - 89
Steel shaft, 4 mm dia, 500 mm long, 2,50 euro
Because it's meant for being used as shaft, I guess it's at least as straight as the original carbon shaft...
