Only problem is my lack of money... I have uni during the week days (first year Electronic Engineer ) then a casual job on the weekend so my equipment and planes are rather limited in numbers
I am an old fart now but I was not once. (great statement)

I suppose you have seen this camera which is a stand alone which I put elastic on and attach to my head to record flights and you can put it in a plane. At only $18 plus postage the video is quite good.

I just keep learning every day from everyone here and I could sit on google and youtube all day and learn more.

I knew about these but did not know they were so cheap. Another handy item that scans the horizon and keeps the plane level.

Is there any end to the spending?

Theres a thread devoted to it. I have 2 and 2 more on order.
RVOSD MK2 onwards uses the sensors to keep the plane oriented.

Can anyone help?

Dim RV Goggles
Hey guys my Rvision video goggles have had a problem ever since new, and I was wondering if anyone else who uses them has a similar issue.

They are so dim most of the time it is impossible to see clearly without making sure not a photon of light can get in.

Today though just before my first flight, all of a sudden they brightened up to what I'd consider normal. It was great I could see very clearly. I had about 45 minutes of nice bright flight and then they dimmed out again and I had to make an emergency landing as I could hardly see a thing!

So basically maybe there is a loose wire or something...

Anyone else have this problem?

Hmmm... They have the remote control to adjust the brightness right?? Sounds to me like maybe the chip that controls that is kaput!!

The brightness on the remote works. It goes up and down, but everything is just dim. When it kicked in the brightness also went up and down in the same increments. It's almost like the back lighting goes off behind the screen or something...

Thanks - I just read the whole thread.
You mentioned that the OSD uses the sensors. I am not sure what an OSD has got to do with it but I have the EagleTree OSD Pro and just the ET OSD so I suppose it will work with both of them.
I might order one or two even though they are not in stock.

Thanks

Yeah me either! Such a bugger, I was putting up with it until the amazing flights today at full brightness and it is soooo much better I'm not sure if I can go back!

Man what a pain, could be that there might be a bad connector. Might be worth while reseating all connectors in the glasses, I had a similar problem with my fat sharks but it ended up being my reciever not tuned to the transmitter correctly. Hopefully it isn't that as that isn't a quick fix like reseating & checking connectors.

RVOSD/Autopilot uses the FMA thermopiles to stabilise the plane for autonomous flight modes. It uses 2 separate units, one for xy, and one for z axes

GO PRO CAMERAS ARE COMING TO MONGREL GEAR

Hello Lads,

We have just secured the Go Pro Camera range and will have them in our store very shortly.

We are running a celebration special, but you will have to be quick.

We hope to have them up in a day or so, but if you want to take advantage of the special, then PM for pricing.

EDIT - I should mention that the prices for the Go Pros are going up as of July 1, according to the wholesaler. The Aussie Dollar is to blame.

Cheers
Mongrel
