I had a good crash this morning while flying in the park. Even that was fun
10 mins should get it up and running again.

You walked away uninjured?
LOL about the motion sickness. I always fly sitting down. But then I am an old fart..

Hey guys where are some good places to fly in the Sydney area?

I'd like somewhere scenic and somewhere where not many people are about. Sitting by yourself with your head in a t-shirt around people makes me a bit uncomfortable (as easy target, in case someone decides they'd like your wallet!).

How about some google maps of the best FPV sites in Sydney?

Although I never got to fly there when I was hang gliding, Stanwell Park is regarded as one of the premier slope soaring sites in OZ.

Interesting observation. When I was a teenager, my mates were fliers too. Now drive past any RC club and you will see that most of the guys there are the same ones as 30 years ago, now middle aged men. Seems like teens these days arent that keen on RC.
Any takers?

I read somewhere the question was raised, if ya have a long range ppm system [eg dragonlink, sherrer, or perhaps Mongrel's] could the joystick+Forcefly be plugged in directly to the long range system, negating an r/c transmitter w/ trainer port?

I for one, would lurve to fly joystick!

anyone have any advice/ knowledge?
Hey Hoppy, have you seen this?

I realise these are for very small cameras but the IR lenses would be available somewhere for the bigger lenses. The following says "buy without UV+IR filter for great indoor performance and night vision". My white tree one had night time LEDs which I removed.

Just quite interesting.

"It has excellent outdoor performance with high quality UV+IR filtered micro lens. Best choose for mini/micro FPV planes.

Or you can order it with lens without UV+IR filter for great indoor performance and night vision with IR invisible LED lights. And ofcourse you can use it like spy cam

* PICO-480 coming with Indoor/Night Vision and Outdoor(UV-IR filtered) lenses. You can use it on pitch darkness with IR leds."

Well... I'm only 18 that counts right? Got into RC planes when I was about 16, then moved to a bit of AP but I quickly found myself recording the flights rather then still images, then that lead to me wanting to get into FPV which is a blast! Only problem is my lack of money... I have uni during the week days (first year Electronic Engineer ) then a casual job on the weekend so my equipment and planes are rather limited in numbers
