CMOS loves 5V, just feed it 5v via any spare servo ch on your RC receiver.
Even Y-lead off the nearest servo works well.
You wont smoke it on 5v, anything above 5v yes most likely.

cheapy CCD Board camera i've come across that runs 5v are the NTSC Panasonic CX161 ? But they are way old.

The Sharp NTSC 1/4" 420tvl CCD Board Cameras that we have been using look like this.

John,
It was a sunny day up your way today.
WHAT HAPPENED, Where is the VIDEO !!!

cheers
It might be a sunny day but some people work. But not for long. Retiring in July so I have been buying up big. My receiver pan tilt turned up in the mail yesterday but have been buying spare everything.

Photo number 1 attached is the one I smoked the regulator. The camera did not smoke it. I smoked it when cutting it apart I did not know which wires went where. As you say it is a 5 volt camera so I could cut off the regulator and hook it up to 5 volts. The only problem is there are three wires going from the regulator to camera board. They are yellow, red and black. I guess red 5v, black earth but what is yellow? That is what slowed me down a couple of months ago.

Photo number 2 is the board camera that I took out of a big dome from ebay. I have one long flight of it with a 500mw TX and the picture is perfect throughout the flight except for the white trees etc. I tried the same equipment and put on the Killer camera and had crap on the screen a lot. Maybe I had the receiver aerial better on the first one. I'll keep playing with them. But what I was going to say it was suppose to be a Sharp 420 line camera but what they sent me was a bit different than the ebay picture. I was going to photograph the back but it is super taped to the crystal etc.

Thanks

That is too obvious. The three wires are coming from a regulator and the input into the regulator is 9 volts.

There is an aerial on the TX and it is not the wires from the camera to TX so it is not a video wire.

So it is all power but buggered if I know what it is. It must be two voltages.

Thanks

Hi Gree, I fly at national park near Pit town, lots of trees so not the best. It's not that far from Richmond Air-force base either which i don't really like.

SPG - I have an eagle eyes and tracker left from my current order if you want one!

All the rest have sold. I was keeping one of each for one customer but he does not want it now.

Let me know
Cheers

PS: anyone interested in a FPV Meeting in the Sydney area, I am thinking of having an FPV meet next month on the 19th June 2010 with BBQ and stuff. Would be open to all who would like to attend (entry would have to be by invite only via pre-registration) ?

Sydney's FPV event of the month

Where did you think you'd hold this 'fly in'? It'd be great to chase a few planes around!

How many Sydney based FPVers are there I wonder?

There must be a few i'm sure.

I was thinking of having it on a farm. There is video of mine if you want to see my blog <==

It wouldn't be any commercial thing just a very informal fun fly thing with maybe a course or two setup to navigate.

There is a large area to fly and it is perfect for long range fairly low flights, or you can keep it close and still have some fun.

Would probably be asking for donation for the BBQ at most.

I was thinking this would be tops to see some people who are into FPV and wouldn't mind sharing and having fun for a day with some organisation for safety reasons and such. Wouldn't want to have someone blasted out of the sky if we aren't careful.

No worries there.

Parking shouldn't be a problem either.

Ok so if your up for it then I'll post up a thread next week some time to make it more official in that way.

Just chime in here for now if you would like to attend in the Western Sydney so I have some sort of idea as to how many people would like to attend before I post a dedicated thread.
