Gust pushing things around in my head and just about to put a tri copter together, then thought, would a tri work with EDF's instead of normal props? and if you could, then could you turn the fans to give normal forward movement?

Hi mate...

FYI - I have 1 pair of fat shark base units left in the order coming from Fat Shark!

I had a stack of them, but they have all been snapped up.

Cheers

From what I understand you won't ever be switching it on. There is a recent thread about just this under Regions/Australia.

900mhz might not be legal but it's a bit like being naked in public. If no one sees you, is it still ilegal?

First, it's not likely anyone will be ready to deploy in the 30 minutes or so you might fly, so no one is going to catch you.

Second, if you keep away from populated areas, it's not likely anyone will even know your doing it.

Third, if you use a higher db antenna, the signal might be stronger but it will be focused on you model and even less likely to effect anyone else.

Happy Days.

Commercial wireless smoke detectors transmit on 900mhz but aren't widely used. The main place they are used is in heritage listed properties which is mainly around cities.
