1.2g and 2.4g can have issues do to Frequency Harmonics. 2.4 is the perfect harmonic for 1.2!

Now I am no RF expert, but my understanding of it is as follows...

Lets call the 1.2g Frequency 'X' the next harmonic would be 2X which in this case would be 2.4g , the next harmonic would be 3X or 3.6g, and so on.

Hence why you can have issues with 1.2 and 2.4.

That is my take - if I am wrong - Sorry!

Jshg, mate it all looked good till out about the length of a footy field and Bingo "lockout". Not one but about 4 in a Minute and Ended up in the tree's trying to get it in back safely. No damage to the gear but the Clacker Valve was working overtime . The plane and FPV are powered seperately John. I tried it ( 1.2ghz )with 36meg and all good. I have since bought 900mhz unit so I might stick with that with my 2.4ghz gear. From my limited experience I reckon your on the money Mongrel. My first Bass I catch tomorrow while sipping a cool one I'll dedicate to the Mongrel.....

Aussie Pete send me a PM.

I did put a fat antenna on the video TX and a better one (maybe) on the receiver. The receiver one seemed to make a difference but maybe I need the stock aerial on the TX.

Do you use the thin stock antennas on both the TX and the RX?

Looking good. Where did you buy that one from. LOL

You would have to be very happy with the modification and looks good in the air. It flies better than my standard one which I have only flown once. It was very windy and the wing was digging in on the turns. I'll have to try it on a calm day but the EasyGlider was very good in the strong wind.

Good job.

Thanks man. I am stoked to be honest!

I am thinking of some more mods. I am thinking on grabbing my spare set of wings, cutting them the same, but this time add some ailerons. It would just make it roll better and be even more on rails.

I do need to reinforce the wings some, as there is a little too much flex, but overall I am pretty happy with the outcome, and yeah - it looks tops in the air.

Cheers

Ive been through so many... I found that if I didnt bend my antenna too much (on the pivot) everything was great, if I bent it 90 degrees sometimes the video would turn to snow - like there was no antenna on there.
Dunno, weird stuff...

But I love my 5.8 now
