No need for a model memory, just use a cheap servo tester, like this, to control the ESC:

If you use a 12V power supply, make sure it can deliver a few amps. You don't really need that many volts though, unless you're trying to make a big cutter. For something small, just three of four rechargeable AAs would do - or the minimum number the ESC will work with.

Here are a couple of pics of the new smaller, lighter Mig29 twin 28mm EDF. My original 18"ws bird came out at 180grs. To shed some weight I scaled her down to 15" ws, changed a lot of 6mm Depron to 3mm and came in at 147grs. It could be built even lighter by leaving off the carbon fiber leading edge protectors, the fiberglass wing and top covering that would also save a few coats of WBPU. If the wind stays down I will try for a maiden in the morning.

Maiden was a complete nonevent. Gentle toss into the wind and away she went. Once on step she took a couple clicks of down and was flying hands off. She is noticably faster than the Mig-15 UMX. Very responsive to control input, roll rate on the border of to fast! The sound of those two 28mm fans blowing by 10 foot out and at eye level must be heard to be fully appreciated. I was using an rcbabbel 500mah 2s Hyperion pack and on the maiden at 2.5 mins only used 240mah. For the next flight I set the timer to 4min and still had punch while on final. Next time out I will try to get some video.

Attached are the .jpg's of my just completed 29'er Sig. kit with ar6400 radio and motor from a P-51. The wing span is 20.5 inches and comes in at 47 grams with battery installed. Always enjoyed working with balsa and tissue. Now I wait for a no wind day for the maiden.

Here's a couple of mine. First is a 1/32 sheet balsa clone of a 1950s rubber powered 18" Carl Goldberg Shoestring. AR6400, P-51 motor and prop, 150 mah battery. RTF weight 1.35 ounces. Great little indoor flyer! Russ Farris

Here's the second - 1/32 sheet balsa clone of Carl Goldberg Cessna 180 circa 1957. 20" span 1.25 ounces. Same setup as the Shoestring. Another excellent flyer! These models were downloaded for free from Paul Bradleys excellent website linked below. Russ Farris

Sweet, I just built their tiger from the same series. It flies amazingly. It's slow and stable and can loop. Mine is the same size as yours and about the same weight. I'll post pics soon. Good luck with your maiden!
