I remember the Gnat. I believe it was a Ken Willard design using a Cox .010.
For it's time, it was an amazingly small R/C plane.

All of my scratch builds are just cut from tracing out shapes by sight and measure.. Sorry, no plans.
I use a #11 blade for cutting.

My styker died. The tiny linear servos didn't have enough throw to keep it in the air (only 4mm at best, 20in model not enough). Now what should I build?

This version, entirely made of Depron (mostly 3mm), is originating from earlier profile-type prototypes and still uses a flat profile wing.
-wingspan: 30cm
-length: 15cm
-weight: ...
-AR6400L (V-tail mix)
-Kyosho Minium Ad Piper Cherokee motor (6mm) and prop.
Attachment 4121484 Attachment 4121483
The interior fuselage has two floors (upper; AA6400L and motor / bottom; battery trey). Each floor is ventilated seperately by its own intake in the nose and has its own out-take, that directs the airflow away from the airframe at the rear bottom (ok, that's may be exagerated for this model, but it was fun to build).
Attachment 4121899
PS the carbon stick at the rear is only there to obtain correct CG (I was wery surprised to finally end up nose-heavy).
hehe, it's like a little baby alula.

Shaun,
Thanks so much for the Gnat plans. I already have it framed up. All Balsa
except 1/16" Ply for the firewall. 5 gram BL motor, AR6300 with single
rotary servo that will turn a torque rod to the rudder, just like we used to do it.
Hard to believe they flew that at 4 oz., but with at TD .010 it probably really
zipped.
I have a Jr. Falcon that I did the same thing, even painted it just like the pic
on the box.
Will post pix when it is done.
