I put together a Mini SUltimate, scaled off of plans I got from Donatas. I used the Beast motor/battery, with the AR6400NBL that comes with the Micro Stryker. For servos I ended up replacing the Spektrum stuff with the HK5320 1.7g servos from Hobby King. I really like these little servos, they are blindingly fast, and do not have the annoying noise and mounting troubles of the Spektrum linear acts. You do have to swap out the connector though which is a pain, and all of the servo arms are drilled for rather large wire.

Mini SUltimate (2 min 17 sec)

Here's a video of John Glezellis wringing it out at the Auburn indoor flying site. I really like this size/power combo. With a 22" wing and a 50-55g flying weight the wing loading works out to slightly less than the UMX extra. It feels like a full size indoor 3d plane, but it makes the space you're flying in seem much larger. I'm going to try a F3P plane with the same setup next, I think it will allow for a more relaxed flying of the routines, as there are now more airplane lengths for a given hall size.

Donatas offers plans for the larger version on his page http://www.pauzuolis-rc.com/. I scaled from that.

You could do similar for any of the open source plans : http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=550372
And just scale to 22" span. Next week I'm going to start drawing up an original pattern plane for the same equipment. I'll post plans for that once it's done. The airframe is Depron. I didn't do any milling on it, so there's probably 5g that could be taken out.

What do you mean by milling? Just thinning the foam on the fuselage in certain places?

Yup. It's a technique that's been used on indoor foamies for a few years now. Lots of threads on how to do it.

30" wingspan scratch-built PT19, 61 grams (bit heavy, but I`m sure it`ll fly), with E-Flite Ultra Micro 4-Site components.

I`ll fly it tomorrow at an indoor funfly, and try to provide video.

It`s based on a previous successful design of mine, a whimsical sport plane powered by Ultra Micro Sukhoi guts.

Also 30" and flies well.

How cute! But are you sure you want Dudly flying? His horse would probably be a much better pilot!

30 inch is large for this gear. What does the wing loading come out to be?
