It's a nice place for sure. I am very lucky here. Only a short drive and there is a lot of variety. Here are a few taken from teh gopro...

I guess I'll have to look a little closer at the pixm cameras. I'm impressed...

Hi Paulinfrance

Yes sorry about that, there are tooooo many posts to go through

Looks good for the money but pretty poor resolution

As someone else says most of the time you may be recording on the aircraft but as a simple viewer recorder its would be ok

Hey I'm looking to get a Cheap, & Reliable & Simply!!!! DVR What would be some of the best options? (Its only needed for a down aircraft!) 12V power source would be better! as I only use 3cell lipos! Video quality doesn't really mater I have a gopro on board.

I'm consider this at the moment:
-AV25 2GB Portable Multimedia Player and DVR with 2.5 inch screen
How long will it recored on the 2GB/ 4GB card for?

Do I have any other options? say under $100( I dont want to use a laptop because simple is Key! )
If i have to use a BEC for 5volts that will be ok, but not as simple!!
Or would I be better off actually saving some money and buying a $200 DVR -I just find it steep for something I would rarely use. Any Thoughts???

If you don't mind recording video quality of AV25 and resolution, than that's the cheapest all-in-one solution on the market today that i know of.

agree,i've had afew more expensive ones and to be honest the AV25 is the best one for relaibility and ease of use.
video quality not the best but ideal for finding a downed plane or quad.
with sound and video recording it uses about 10-12mb per minute of recording.
inbuilt batt. will last a good hr.s recording so ok for a general days flying..
it also keeps on recording through static and even records if VTX turned off..

sample of video,VTX put on my sons buggy
and some on a plane, with no sound..
not Gopro quality BUT for the money..WORKS fine..

first test on buggy LOS 001 (4 min 12 sec)

Kirkham maiden FPV twin plane 001 (11 min 51 sec)

It's even cheaper if you are a new customer and add the recorder to your shopping basket, fill in your personal details to calculate the shipping costs and then leave. After a while you'll get a 5% discount voucher in your e-mail.

Lack of FPV Japan DVR instructions

I just purchased a Japan FPV DVR. How do I get it to upload the file to my computer?. When I plug the USB cable to the computer the DVR says "USB password" with six digits underneath all now reading 0. The next line says 'apply' and 'cancel'. Using the 'up' 'down' buttons only changes the digits. How do I get it to 'cancel'. I don't need another password to remember. The device does not show up on my computer?

The instructions are supposed to be intuitive. I think my "intuit' is broken

Here is a link to the multiwiicopter.com FPV DVR user manual. It is the same as the Japan FPV DVR, just repackaged. I'm not sure if these instructions are any better than the Japan DVR, but you can check that out. I believe the first time I hooked mine up, I didn't enter anything for the password and it went ahead and connected to the computer.

Anyone got any suggestions for a good DVR that has a good size screen e.g. more than 5"? I would like to use the DVR screen as a monitor other people can view too so I can keep my groundstation compact but the good DVR's out there have a pretty small screen resolutions.

Pull the SD card out of your DVR, and put it in the SD card reader on your computer.
If you don't have one, buy one. They're cheap.

I have the attached 'one-touch' recorder, and have a question. The specs say it records at 320x240 and 640x480. How do you change between the two? Is this the progressive/interlaced option?
