Must be pretty low bitrate, because it shows a lot of compression artifacts.

Hello
The question outside the FPV things.
I am interested in the converter or a DVR recorder with which I could rewrite the video digitized from old VHS, Hi8, .... cassette PAL format. They play with a player that has RCA outputs.
I want to record a good quality (which can get).
Old material should get a digital to memory something remains.

What you can advise me? It is desirable to $ 100.

For the best capture quality I would recommend Easycap USB capture adapter. Price is around $10 USD.

Here is a video recorded with the FPV-Japan DVR. No changes to the video, just raw footage clipped on each end. The only problem that I have with this DVR is that it will shut down when its cold. If I keep it insulated, it will stay powered.

Is that really raw footage? It looks severely compressed, well beyond what either the
recorder or YouTube would have done.

Hi techspy,

just to be clear there are no issues with supply.

There was just no way I was going to take customers money until we resolved the issue of the US customs unlawfully confiscating a container of them destined for a reseller over a ridiculous issue.

The loss is shared personally between me and the factory and we are now ready to "resupply".
In fact only the other day one disreputable reseller tried to exploit our loss.
However this whole episode has developed a much closer working relationship with the factory and we now enforce MAP policy as well as protecting the firmware developed specifically for FPV-Japan.
In the near future I will list authorized resellers.

I'd like to thank all those of you who have offered support in this really mentally draining time.
Giving up is not an option when a roof over ones head and food in the pantry are not an option either.

best regards,

Ren

Ian, I'm not an expert on video but I rendered it with vegas9 640x480 internet and just uploaded. Should I render it with a higher definition, even though its not HD video?

Internet settings would mean high compression.(easier on bandwidth)
"raw footage" usually means no compression, no editing, the file direct from the source.

I liked the thumbs up at the end.

Yes but like all good things the demand generates a cue.

I'm placing two big orders with the factory this week.
The first order is sold out - the second order has a few spaces left.
The only advice I can give you is if you don't want to wait forever then best to place an order now and wait about 10-14 days than wait a few more weeks and then another 10-14 days.

Best regards,

If you want to represent it as close to raw, then need to match the resolution
of the original, but much more importantly match or exceed the bitrate of the original video.
It looks like you chose a setting with much lower bitrate so the quality suffered. Can either
customize that setting to up the bitrate, or choose some other setting with more.

The best way to post a true "raw" clip is just to start and stop the recorder with the plane
in the air and capture a couple minutes and post that file to YouTube or Vimeo.

I forgot about this clip but this is the file directly from the FPV-Japan DVR. I didn't get much video on this vtx test because the DVR shutdown in the cold.

1280 video test (1 min 25 sec)
