HET F-16 EDF crash, due to girly throw.
so i had my brother build me an HET F-16, with an ARC 28-47-1, HET 6904 fan unit, and 4S 3200 30C batteries. about 1400 watts, looking at 130 mph (or faster).
So i went for the maiden yesterday, a nice dude at my feild offered to handlaunch it for me, but instead i decided to do it myself. I proceeded to toss my 2 1/2 pound edf PRECISELY like a girl scout, and sideways into the ground.
Snapped the left wing clean off.
I guess it's time to upgrade to carbon spars and more epoxy.
anyway, i just thought i'd share my latest $500 dollar crash.

I have the best hand launch way, here is how I do it
I have much more weight than you do, i have HET F20 with 6s cells, it is close to or more than 5pounds. THe way I do it is hold it from the cg spot on my palm, the fingers just hold the plane but it is mainly on my palm, then what you do is give full throttle and run with the plane for about 10-15 feet and then just push off the palm straight up as you are doing a free throw with a basketball, not forward just push it up gently and it will take off like if it was on wheels. I am going to make a video soon as my chip comes in the mail. I hope you understand what I am trying to say. IF you have alot of power you do not need to throw the plane, if you can hover your plane in the house, which means it can support its own weight you should not have to throw it. Just run with it a little bit and then gently push it up off your palm and then quickly give full elevator to climb up.
