RVOSD gen1 has all the features of the gen3 except attitude feedback in the control loop. Also our incoming ground station and antenna tracker will be compatible with it.

Off the topic - Ground Station

Alex the brand "Z" Antenna tracker uses the audio channel for the data packets.

For me it has proven to be a little unreliable with my 900Mhz equipment. It seems like the audio channel is prone to a lot of fidelity issues.

I heard you are going to be using something different, perhaps embedded in the video channel. Would that be more reliable ?

How far off from the first article are you ?

lol Steve. Brand "Z" is EZtracker. I think both works similar, audio or video, The advantage of video is that you can send more data in the same amount of time, so maybe the aditional redundant data can make it to have improved reliability. I cant compare both since I dont have the inmersion RC antenna tracker so maybe, I am wrong.
I think that the complete package can be ready for production in 2 month. Antenna tracker is ready, but we are planning to go beyond that. I will not give any more info for now .

Notice that the patch for gen2 and gen1 is the same. But on gen1 you should not activate the AHI sensors in the menu, and of course stabilization modes dont work, because they are related to the AHI sensor. The rest is the same for the two versions. Gen3 has a hardware change on the graphic board so there is an slight improvment on the display look.

I have the connector for the firmware upgrade for the eagle tree system

I wonder if it will work with the RV one?

or do I have to order a special one from RV?

You need the pickit2 programmer, I guess you have it? Eagle tree connector will not work.

Hi Alex,
This may be a bit picky, but the menu set is a bit cluttered. Howabout if I select no "IR sensors"- version 1- then all the menu lines with N/A disappear?
Just a thought
Cheers
Frank

Oh man, sorry about that, but I had the people over me asking for the gen3 and I didnt wanted to release it without having the update patch ready at the same time for old users. Removing all those menus is a pain in the ... And I was afraid to add any bug not having enough time to test it. So I though the best was to release it as is, knowing it was tested and debuged.
It seems simple but the user interface eats a lot of lines of code, more when you program in assembly language like I do.

Hi Alex,
Dont apologise!I I think your product is excellent, and will be upgrading to V3 soon.
Are the home brand IR sensors available yet? Might hang off until I can get the whole package in one order.
