No, quad will fall down. Try to remove one esc from board and you will see.
I failed with calibration of ESCs. They starts in different time. I tried to use described calibration, but there is no two beeps as it should be... When the ESCs are in calibration mode and I move stick down (it seems I tried everything), they starts in the same time...

ok, what a pity

Unfortunately, those links are not working for me. I get 404 on them.

EDIT: I used the product number in the link to identify the ESC you are using: I found this information:

To program this controller you have to move transmitter throttle to full position.
Now connect battery to controller.
Wait some seconds, than you hear:
*peep* - *short pause* - *peep*
*pause*
*peep*peep* - *short pause* -*peep*peep*
*pause*
*peep*peep*peep* - *short pause* -*peep*peep*peep*
*pause*
this sequence will repeat...

When you want to use NIHM cells, you have to move throttle to off position when you hear the first *beep*beep*. Than you have to wait for a longer *beeep* and a short *beep*. That's all. You can disconnect battery now.

When you want to select LIPO mode, start from the beginning (throttle full, connect battery, listen to the beeps)
At the time when you hear the first single *beep* move throttle to off and wait for
*beeep* and *beep*.

When you want to switch Brake On or Off, start from the beginning, then wait for the first *peep*peep*peep* within one sequence and put throttle to off. Wait for *beeep* and *beep*.

Note: When you connect battery and throttle is in off position you will hear a long *beeeep* when LIPO-mode ist selected or a short *beep* when NIMH-mode is active.

I have just finished my Q4+ based on kaptainKUK.

My ESCs do not start at the same time. I have this one
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=6457
which is simple product without basic programmable possibilities.

1. My question is how does it work in source code? Will it really help if I buy this one:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idproduct=6548
or
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idproduct=6458

2. My second question concerns of general stability. If Q4 loses one propeler will be Q4 able to land, or will it crash?

thankx to anybody for reaction

Thanks Scot. Of course I have already downloaded manual for HK SS ESC, tried to calibrate, but without success. More directly by email.

thank you.

thank you.

In another thread -- Christian requested that we with motor 4 issues flash the NORMAL quad 4.7 rather than the X configuration - and check the motors. How about you do that and see if the problem goes away. Of course you'd have to rotate the board 45 degrees left in order to fly -- but with the results your having you should notice the difference right away -- if there is one.

Could you send me a link of that thread? Thank you. I will try, of course, there is nothing to lose.

Did they use ESC HK SS nonprogrammable and does Q4 work?

thanks

Hi friends,
I hope my summary will help all.

1. For Quad copter make four sets of Motor and ESC and mark them as I,II,III,IV
2. Make Throttle Range Calibration for each set. Connect the ESC and to Rx and make throttle calibration. ( fix the Max, Min throttle range. Repeat this for every set of Motor and ESC) make the ESC programming as per KK recommendations and ESC guides.

3. Once you install the FC (flight controller board) , ESC and motors ..again make Throttle Range Calibration by the procedure mentioned in KK manual.(in most of the KK's turn yaw pot to zero, and turn on Tx , Throttle Stick to full, after ESC confirmation beep, lower the Throttle Stick to bottom)

4. Throttle range calibration is very important for any multicopter system. It is needed to start all the Motors evenly. Though controlling each motor will be taken care of the FC board, initially all the motor starts from the same Throttle Stick Position. After the calibration setup, try to move the throttle stick from zero to max. All motors must start evenly. If not, the ESC is not calibrated or... ESC or motor has problem)

5. Since there are many KK variants, we have to be careful in propeller directions. Pls check propeller directions before you are ready to fly.
for example: in Hobby King KK, the directions for + or X mode are… M1 (Front) = CCW, are M2 (Left) = CW, M3(Right)=CW, M4(Rear) = CWW
Note: be sure the sockets are connected in the correct order. From FC board M1 to Motor 1’s ESC …. M4 to Motor 4’s ESC. Pls double check this.
I keep dots as shown in the attachment to identify the correct orders.(My photo is for OpenPilot CC FC...just to show how I mark them by dots)

Also I hope my attachment will help for the the powerline wiring.
