Or instead to a led switch, I know HK has this lumifly gear.
Thanks.
I connect my LED strip to my 11.1v main lipo via an R/C controlled switch from HK. That way I can turn it off so that it doesn't mess up the light balance from my camera when flying FPV. Ebay has lightweight flat SMD LED strips in most colors and lengths that you can cut to fit.

I got some led strips from ebay and as Initially I don't plan to put a camera on the quad I thought about connecting them directly to the lipo.
But I guess I'll hack up a rc switch for them as well..

Or you can use a small brushed esc instead. Also gives you the added benefit of beeing able to adjust brightness on your LED´s

GWS ICS50/100 is perfect!

Guys,

Mayby A stupid question, but how do you know your battery is empty?
Is it normal that the quad does do crazy things if the battery is bad? Yes, I know, the quad comes down then, but before that happends.
I'm using very bad lipo's, ( Full lipo 11,6v, and after hovering about 9,9v! I'm using an OSD, FPV) so mayby that's the reason?

Thanks.

Farctors to increase the gains on roll & pitch

Hi,

On my mini quad (36 cm cross), I can't get more than 25% gain on roll and pitch, which make it difficult to fly in windy conditions, a slight wind guts, blows it away!

Can you help me defining all aspects the could help increasing the gain?

  1. Reduce vibration : balance motor and props
  2. Increase distance between motors (longer arms)
  3. ...
thanks,
manuLRK

when its empty, the quad comes down, right. before that happens the quad is tilting and u have some seconds to bring it down.
i fly my copter 10min and look how much i can recharge. so i can setup the timer in my tx.

Front and back motor is tilted to the right, as seen from the motor end of the arm.
Left and right is tilted to the left.
Thanks for the tip. Really good response. So if you look down the arm the two motors will look like they are leaning away from each other? So much for the square tubes.

Is that gun fire in the back ground?

Some info on my new frame!

The biggest problem was to get my hands on some square tubing, but I got a tip
from kapteinkuk that Biltema had some "tørkestativ" with some perfect square tubing 15x15x0.8mm thanx Kapteinkuk!

I think it is about 50% done now and the weight feels quite good.

The landing skid is taken from a t-rex 500, the arm to arm is 60cm

I also stolen some of the Jakub design by solder the nuts to the board! Its realy a good idea.

Better quadrocopter yaw response by tilting the motors. (0 min 35 sec)

Left and right is tilted to the left.
Is this quad all with 4 CCW props, or 2CW and 2CCW?

I fly my mini quad with 4 CCW props, and tilt as you the front and back motors.

Carbon Fibre Frames - Any interested?

Hi All,

I've met with a local CNC company to ask if they can cut me some Carbon Fibre for the centre frame of my multicopter. You may have come across them, these are the guys that do the NHP helicopter carbon blades... really good stuff, I actually fly them myself on my 50size heli

The answer is yes... but the catch is I have to buy the complete carbon sheet even if i only want one frame set. So, I can get a number of sets out of one sheet.

Please see the attached graphic of what i will be cutting. If you are interested, let me know. If we have enough interest, i will get it cut and post the sets.

Please see the second attachment for dimensions.
I am proposing that we use a carbon thickness of 1.5mm. We also have a 2mm option, but its heavier and more expensive.

The Hex frame will use the same dimensions and holes, except it will have 4 arms instead of 6 as per the diagram.

So here are the prices,
- If we get 7 people interested in the Quad frame (i will take the two HEX pairs), then the cost PER SET (2) will be £32 (excluding shipping)
- If we get 21 people interested in the Quad frame and 4 people in the HEX frame, then the cost PER SET (2) will be £22 (excluding shipping)

Looking forward to your interest
