I have asked this before and have been unable to find the problem - When testing the yaw then I give it full left yaw stick I get the back motor speeds up - when I give it full right stick I do not get any change in motor speeds on the right or left motors - What would cause this? Where do I start trouble shooting? Thanks

Mike

I get exact same prob in my quad only with v4.5.no prob with v4.3.i thought it was my settings of yaw pot.

Cheers,

If you plug a servo to ch4 of the receiver, do you see if servo moves equally in both directions when moving rudder stick?

You might want to test the flight time calculator available here.

booyah! finally i got most of the parts!
now it's noob question again, here's from the 1st page regarding V6 TH board :
C1,2,3,4,9,10,11: 100nF ceramic capasitor.
C7: electrolyte or tantalum with a value of 10uF and upwards.
C5,6,8: 0.68uF Tantalum.

got Niall's board and there is one unlabeled electro-cap between leads, is that C9? anybody can confirm this?

also, C7 & C9 anybody knows if it's better to use 10uF or 33uF (that's the value on the scheme)?

Here is an example of tilting the motors on a CW/CCW quad to get better yaw response:

Better quadrocopter yaw response by tilting the motors. (0 min 35 sec)

Front and back motor is tilted to the right, as seen from the motor end of the arm.
Left and right is tilted to the left.

I see more and more quads using the leds strips, do you guys
connect them directly to the Pack?
Or instead to a led switch, I know HK has this lumifly gear.
Thanks.

I might have mentioned it earlier in this thread, but I'm creating something similar, based on a Walkera RX2435.

Right to the interesting parts:

Pic of the top PCB of the RX2435: http://wuselfuzz.de/crapcopter/rx2435_gyro_top.jpg

Code:
   o Z
   o X?
   o Y?
   o ?
   o sw2
   o ?      o GND
   o pot4   o sw1
   o pot3   o 3.3V
   o pot2   o LED
   o pot1   o 2.8V
So by just powering up the rx, there's a 2.4 GHz Walkera compatible receiver, analog gyro outputs, and a nice 2.8V reference voltage for the ADC.

Gyros are centered at 1.35V.

Another interesting fact:

142 Hz PWM on Elevator, Aileron and Throttle, FM on Rudder.

In my software, I'm using a pretty simple IRQ mechanism to sample input data. E,A,T on PCINT21/22/23, looking like this (rewritten from memory, code is at home, it's just to show the idea):

Code:
// initialization: TCNT1 is initialized with 1/8 prescaler and free running,
// so it counts microseconds. PCINT2 is enabled for PCINT21/22/23,
// PCINT0 is enabled for PCINT0

// global variables

volatile uint16_t e, a, t, r;

uint16_t T_last;
uint16_t TR_last;
uint8_t PD_last;
uint8_t PB_last;

ISR( PCINT2_vec ) {
   uint16_t t = TCNT1; // save timer right at start of interrupt
   uint8_t pb = PINB;

   if(PB_last&(1<<5)) e = T_last - t; // if PB5 was set during the last interrupt, it must have gone down now!
   if(PB_last&(1<<6)) a = T_last - t;
   if(PB_last&(1<<7)) t = T_last - t;

   T_last=t;
   PB_last=pb;
}

ISR( PCINT0_vec ) {
   uint16_t t = TCNT1;
   uint8_t pd = PIND;

   if(PD_last&(1<<0)) r = TR_last - t;

   TR_last = t;
   PD_last = pd;
}

Yep, that other big one in between the leads is C9 and should be 33uF.
