hahahaha, I figured out what was wrong...

I soldered up the dip socket reversed, where pin one is supposed to be, its at pin 15 and so forth... Oh well, time to get the desoldering braid hot. At least the chip still works.

If its only the socket thats wrong, just turn the chip around and it should be good.

I wouldnt bother trying to unsolder a socket just to get the pin 1 in the right spot.

or did you put it on the wrong side of the board?

Basically wrong side of the board, to fix it, I would have to put the socket on the reverse side of the board, where the solder connections are...

Wow. It surprises me again and again what mistreatment these chips will take. A 1A current limit on the power supply will save an Atmel CPU if you plug it in backwards.... Ok. Nice to know. :-)

Glad you can see the humor in this. :-)

I fried some chips over the weekend due to having the wrong polarity. A very basic mistake but still I didn't spot it till it was too late. 4.1v battery box powering my target board killed my Atmegas

Anyway, I know better for next time.

I have an idea to make a few this frames and sell with
looow price for persons who want to test this kind of frame.
(Somebody interested?)

I'm curious your opinions about material - it is "Alubond"
- composite material 0.3mm aluminium + 1.6mm PE + 0.3mm Al.
It is diferent than G10 or carbon, but I like it.

Finaly I'll make this king frame using G10 too.

Jakub

I am interested

TH Board assembly V 4.1

New to electronic pc board assembly.
Anybody have pic's or info on "Jakub" TH pc board. I am doing the assembly and trying to understand the +- of some of the parts for proper installation as well as where to mount the HK 401b gyro's. Any and all info / pics of a fully populated board would be great.
Thanks, BLINDFLIGHT

I will get you some pics of my populated 4.1 board later this week with all the connections. It is down in my workshop (about 2 hrs away) and I will only be going down later this week.

Cheers,

Niall

Yes Peter! I'm using the 1X output. With 4X, the quad becomes very sensitive.

I've seen some numbers about weight from Askman who makes Aerial Photography gears. If I remember correctly, G10 is heavier than CF. For same strength, G10 has to be thicker as well.
