Slopes in France

Any recommendations for big beautiful slope in France? Might be doing our 25th anniversary over there and I must visit at least one rockin slope with my 2.5m in tow.

Cap Blanc Nez outside of Calais would be a great place to fly. I lived in Calais 22 years ago and went up there several times. I started sloping 2 years later, after I got home, and always wished I could get back there. Though I did not see anyone fly when I was there, in the last couple of years I have seen several posts and web sites of French flyers flying there. I wish I had saved the links. If I remember right the cliff is over 300 feet high. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cap_Blanc_Nez

Edit: If you do a Google search for " Cap Blanc Nez planeur* " (planeur = glider) you will find quite a few French language glider web sites and You Tube glider videos at Cap Blanc Nez. Can you read French?

You're right, Cap Blanc Nez is a good place for slope soaring, with different wing orientations:

The classical coast slopes in France is the Menez Hom and the many slope near to this place, where most o VTPR videos were shoted.

On bottom are wind orientations of the nearest slopes.

Other classical coast slope: Dune du Pyla:

One of the most classical french slope, big sloping history; La Madeleine:

Another classical, Le Drumont, with many others slopes in the same region:

Still another classical site, Le Semnoz:

Some slope guides:

So many choices, I think if you plan to go to a specific place at a specific date you would choose one place with wind orientations or many slopes choice. Another point to define is if you want a slope with so many others aeromodeller to meet but which should be a bit crowdy sometime or if you want a wild site with nearly nobody.

A french modeller on RC Groups who knows well many slopes in France for F3F competitions and hollidays is Pierre Rondel, you know yet from your thread on VTPR gliders.

Thanks Cory and others. I can read French thanks to Google translator...So many beautiful slopes over there it will be hard to choose for one or two days only. Maybe its possible to arrange a meeting with other pilots or club members when we decide the days of the trip.
