Now that would be cool. You mean one where you "Twist" the stick for rudder?? Just like a Compute Joystick. Makes me wonder why they are not more popular!!

I see those pop up for sale now and then here... Single stick controller and I think it had a slider for the throttle.

Hey Signguy,

I just woke up from a nap and now it's 3/8/2008...........what happened? Please change it back, I can't relive 2008, 2009, and the start of 2010.

Should I attempt to locate that old EK single stick or not.

Hi Guys,

A couple more questions...

I bought 4 of the rebranded Telebee gyros (Turnigy) and I also bought the GWS one, and am just wondering if I should use the GSW one for the tail or use another Turnigy,

ALSO

Could someone please post their pitch and throttle curves??

Cheers

Okay - I am trying to put together a tricopter list of parts located here in the US - I just hate to pay for shipping and wait from HK so Bob if you are out there What do you think of this list -
http://www.hobbypartz.com/30a-electr...o-series-.html ESC - 11.00
http://www.hobbypartz.com/servo-mg90s.html Metal Gear Servo -6.00
http://www.hobbypartz.com/60p-dy-1017.html Gyro - 17.00
http://www.hobbypartz.com/ub2liin.html UBEC - 6.80
http://www.hobbypartz.com/alpha-400-...ess-motor.html Motor - 12.70
http://www.hobbypartz.com/exbrescprdef.html Programming card 7.95
My total is $142.85
I know the ESC's work great can anyone verify the rest of the list? Thanks

Mike

The speed controllers and the program card are the same as the HK SS, as a matter of fact the program card from HK will work with volcano ESCs and vice versa... so they are the same, just branded differently. You can probably save weight (and money) and use the 12 amp or 18 amp Volcano ESC with these motors. The motor is rated at 10 A.
The motor you picked is excellent and I am using one on my LoRyder build and will run at 10 amps or less while pushing an 11x4.7 prop. They are almost as good as the Axi 2212/34 (59.99). I was thinking that they would work very well in this application.

All Done lads!! And it flies too!!

It is just WAY too windy here to get any serious air time but I have had it off the ground, and just trying to trim it up.

I have some questions though...

Q1) I have read through the thread and have found some differing of opinions..

1 said... Put all of the Gyro Gains together on the Throttle pin
and
1 said... Put all of the Gyros Gains together on the GEAR pin.

So which one is it??

Q2) My tri keeps wanting to yaw right. I have balanced it nicely, and have noticed that there is a fair bit of Yaw required to keep it pointing straight. Any ideas??

Q3) Do I need to Adjust the GAIN on the YAW gyro - and if so Where do I do that?? I am using the GWS one stated early in thread.

Q4) These are the settings I have on my DX7... please tell me if you see anything stupid...

PITCH = 0 25 50 100

120 swash
AILE +40
ELEV+40
PIT +70

GYRO GAIN on Gear Channel is 35

Anything else I have missed?

I will try to get some video soon

Cheers

I believe that motor is re-branded. Have a look at this list, maybe it will be listed there.

Here is the maiden of my Tri. It was WAY too windy, but I couldn't wait.

I went back an revisited my Gryo Gains. I am now running at about 71%. There is a little bit of pulsating still, so looks like I might need to wind it back a little more.

There is still lots of drift on the tail, and as there is no Gain cable on the GWS Gryo, looks like I might have to use the manual pot on the Gryo itself.

I do have one motor that starts up later than the rest too. Front right.

You might be able to see in the video that I have a fair amount of Yaw trimmed in to keep it straight - is that a torque issue? I didn't expect to have the tail motor leaning over so much.

Right now it weighs in at 34 ounces - and I have not put the camera gear on yet!! EEEK!!! That might be a problem!!!

I will post pics in the next post.

Tricopter Maiden (1 min 15 sec)

Cheers
