Charging a Li-Ion CR2032 battery on a 2030 smart charger

Hello folks,
I am wondering if I can charge the little Li-Ion CR2032 button cells on our Apache 2030 smart charger which says it does Lipo, Nimh and Nicad.

Will we have an unexpected campfire? It says it goes down to 110mah. I am not trying to use these for models or anything that need high power just have the charger and think it would be nice to be able to re-use the batteries rather than buying new ones.

Thanks a lot,
IFM

The only CR2032 button cells I have seen are LITHIUM MANGANESE DIOXIDE and can NOT be recharged.

If they're standard CR2032 primaries, I would not attempt to recharge them. Even if they are indeed rechargeable 2032's, 110mA charge current is quite high but may be ok and I would only attempt it in a safe environment.

The rechargeable version carry LIR2032 designation and are a drop-in replacement for most devices. Need to be wary of voltage however as the rechargeables charge to 4.2V and may let the smoke out of sensitive devices.

i believe CR2032 is not a rechargeable battery, and can support about 30 mA of current with usable capacity, because of the high internal self resistance
