There are people flying combat every day.

If you are having trouble connecting to multiplayer, please contact tech support and they will assist you with your configuration.

RealFlight is probably working fine. It sounds like you may have a firewall blocking your access or some other configuration problem on your machine.

The forums at KE are not technical support. That's just a forum like this one, frequented by basically the same people as here, including me.

On the other hand, technical support is ready to help you

G5 update

O.K. problems with G5 multiplayer ---- Has anyone installed the .023 UPDATE ?

RealFlight G5 - Version 5.00.023 is now available. This version contains numerous multiplayer improvements, including a significant reduction in bandwidth usage.

RealFlight G5 will not allow you to join unless you have the latest patch. You must install the patch to play online.

If you have any problems connecting after installing the patch, please contact tech support.

I'm not aware of any connectivity problems with RealFlight G5. If you are having trouble, it is most likely something that needs to be configured on your machine. Check to make sure the proper ports are opened and that a firewall is not blocking your connection.

Just installed G5 today and got the update. I am getting no sessions found when trying to join multiplayer. Not getting any connection errors and I can host a session?
Can't call support as it is Sunday.

Ports are forwarded and firewall has an exception.

Thoughts?

If there are no sessions running, you can host one of your own.

Usually there are a few sessions running, though. I just checked and there are two sessions running as I type this.

I so excited. A well known website sent me an email for a $20 discount code so I ordered the G5 update! Can't wait for it to arrive. I'll be sitting by the window all week waiting for mailman to come! LOL

Jim,

Got to do some combat last night. I hope more sessions will be going soon as people get the new version.

I got it to work

Jim,

Thanks for the advice. I got on the phone with RF and they told me to uninstall and reinstall the software. That inspired me to look at other software I had installed including my usb webcam. Turns out that the Logitech webcam driver was not working with the realflight usb controller. I uninstalled the Logitech QuickCam Communicate and RF5 stopped crashing when I tried to run multiplayer. I think it is the driver for the Logitech usb microphone which RF was trying to use/initialize in multiplayer mode. Whatever the conflict it is fixed now and I can use multiplayer now. I will have to investigate further why my Logitech driver is not working right since upgrade to Windows 7 but that is a different forum.

Thanks

I just ordered G5 from Tower so should be ready for some combat next week. My Aerofly Pro sim cable got chewed up in the vacuum cleaner and the disc has some scratches so decided to try Realflight. The other versions were not as relistic as Aerofly Pro, but I like the combat idea.
