Spook 48"
I had this in the Park Flyers Forum. Someone suggested I post it here.
Noticed someone is working on the 96" version. This is my second Spook. Built from RCM plans. Sept, 2002 issue. AUW is 21oz. Hope to fly her this weekend. |

That is exceptionally pretty! Very nicely executed too - a credit to you sir!
Love the gull wing - looks like its ready to leap off the bench standing still. Can't resist it though; as Tim Hooper said in his Wasp build thread - can you see the resemblance....???

Thank you Sir! Don't know if I have ever seen a Wasp. Will have to search for that thread.
The Spook flies like a dream, and looks cool with that gull wing. That's shy I have built two! |

Was some mention about the 48 over at SAMTalk quite some time ago about ther version noted in RCM, and where the variences were in regards to "Original" plan versus what was done via Ressler. I was more interested in to what modifications he did to come up near to original specifications.

Thanks guys.
The scallops are done by using the bottom of a bottle of epoxy as a guide. I traced the arc of the bottle onto folder card stock. This gave me a pattern about 15" long. Then you just tape it down over your covering, and trace it with a very sharp x-acto knife. It is a series of smaller pieces. Much easier to do than one long piece. Had plans to do the bottom LE of wing and stab, but ran out of gas ![]()
