Hi Pat,

I'd give Saturday a shot if I could but I have my girls. Looks like tomorrow is the best forecast for wind speed but the precip forecast looks ominous with showers in the morning and rain in the afternoon. Saturday looks the better bet of the two; a little less wind but less chance for rain. Hmmmm... maybe my girls can go chase goats on the Butte while Dad flys.... Let us know how it goes.

Happy New Year,

Vic

Unfortunately I wont be able to go this weekend either. Too many things already planned with the family.

Next weekend is possible for me.

Wind is up this morning and showers look spotty. Maybe today is the day to go after all.

HNY Tim! Next weekend is a possibility for me too. I'll be in touch.

I'm looking at Saturday if the precip holds off.
Busy today.

So....How was it? Yesterday looked like a nice day for flying at the Butte.

Friday was VERY windy and dodging some rain showers. Zagi was landing backwards at the top of the hill.

Saturday was light winds. Good flying. I did a maiden flight of my new seagull and bad trim plus not enough lift sent me on a long walk thru the blackberries to find it. I found it and it will take a little repair and re-trimming to get going again.

Forecast looks light for the weekend but at least the wind finally straightened out; 4 mph at 180, so thinking 8-10 mph on the hill.

Today's forcast is all the way up to 6 mph. I am going to wait for a little more wing and a little less likelyhood of rain. Have fun and let us know how it was. No streaching the truth to make me feel bad now

Hey Tom,

Have fun on your trip out to the coast. Looks like I'll be sticking around as the wind remains calm and blowing 3mph E further down the valley in Eugene. No good indications S wind will start picking up yet. Maybe later today....

I was looking at going to PB for some flying Thursday (Jan 21) morning. The USairnet site says 9 mph, 180 degress from 7:00 AM to 1 PM with a 60% chance of rain. The Weather Underground says 6 MPH at 150 degress at 10 AM with 50% chance of rain. Which one do I believe?

I've been jonesing so bad for some slopin' I went down to Peterson's yesterday (Tue) and was expecting some South at 8-12 but got light and variable 3-5 S-ish.
I threw my Hypnosis out for a few tosses just to say I didn't get skunked.
I don't know WHAT to believe.

WinchDoc

I did get to range test something else, tho...

I'm crying the blues right now too. No decent wind to speak of since November and even the conditions then were relatively light. I'm off Fri-Sun. If the wind picks up...I'm going; but it's not looking too promising at this point.

Tom - I'd go tomorrow if I could. Looks like the best day of the week with winds S in the 20-25 mph range on the hill. Let us know! We need to get another lunch on the books soon.

Do you really think that 9 mph at the Corvallis airport will be 20 on the PB hill? hope so.

Well...not sure but it will be close. Forecast I saw was S at 13. Given the forecast, I wouldn't hesitate to go if I could.
