See you soon Steve. At one point I think the sky was filled with a half dozen jellies and one hang glider this afternoon.

Yes it was one of those rare days with good wind, good friends, good flying, warm temps and NO RAIN.
I flew everything I brought but my Focus was the best plane for the day. At one point I even had 8oz of ballast in it.
I'm looking forward to more great days like that this season.

Hey Tom - no Slope-X yesterday

According to the NWS hourly I'm seeing 20-25 S wind on the hill today by noon, but anything could change. But yesterdays wind forecast was spot on.

Tim

yes that's the one, possibly only 2-1/2 exist in North America.
Adding Flaps to get the Focus Extreme is doable, especially with your skills.

Cheers

Thanks Thomas,
I have looked at it several time with the idea of adding flaps but have not had the courage to
cut into those nice molded wings yet, but it may happen. Its such a nice plane I would hate to bugger it up.

see ya

Flaps

An easy way for me to do flaps on a mouldy that didnt have them, was to make a thin skin of kevlar first with pealply on both sides, remove pealply tape the flap on the outside and bond the hinge in see easy .......just my 2 cents...........

better than expected

Dan and Keith from Olympia and I had been watching the WX all week trying to decide if this weekend at PB would be good or not.
We finally decided Sat(today) looked the best of the two days and gave it a shot.
Driving there it looked like we might get skunked but when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to find about 10 mph at the top of the hill.
It wasn't stellar wind but it was flyable all day long and no rain to boot. Lots of sun breaks and thermals made the flying more fun too.
We had the whole hill to ourselves all day long.

Thanks for coming down here Keith and Dan and for inviting me to tag along.

I missed Dan and Keith's visit? Darn. Would have liked to join you guys but had other obligations. Like you said Tim, I'm surprised you had anything today. It was pretty calm in SW Portland.
