Me and my aircraft

You will have to excuse me as I have never done this 'Blog' thing before!
So heres a little bit about myself. I live in the UK and have a wife and 2 children. Im am lucky enough in that my wife lets me get on with my modelling 'most of the time' as it keeps me 'from under her feet' as she says!
So here is a brief history of some of things I have enjoyed playing with!!
I have been into model aircraft since about the age of 8 (now 37). My first memories was my old man taking me out flying his 'sharkface' powered by a cox 049 using the old single channel radio gear (elmic I think)
I have tried most forms of aeromodling including free flight (out door and Indoor), aerobatics, control line, vintage and more recently model Autogyros. As an engineer I do like to make things once in a while..including two model Jet Turbines and several pulse jets (valved and valveless).
Heres a video of one of my valveless pulse jets running

Pulse Jet engine / valveless (0 min 38 sec)

A few photos of my second Turbine which I built in 1997, it is a Jesus Artes KJ 66, this has been outdated 3 flod since it was built but from time to time I do fire it up (my neighbours really like me!!HA!)

Here are a few photos of some of my vintage models that I am flying at the moment.
My most recent flying machines have been autogyro's, I started messing with them about 2 1/2 years ago and my first few gyros flew but I was for ever breaking them. Then I stumbled upon Dave Suraces DAG-R1, I built this and have never looked back. The model Autogyro world is a small worldwide group and I have gained many friends through this.
I decided to enlarge the R1 to by 1.5 times and called it the DAG-GT, this flies very well. Dave decided to enlarge his popular R2 to this size of which the DAG-60 was born.
My attention then tyrned to pusher Autogyros and with alot of help from others I designed the RPG (Richs Pusher Gyro). This turned out to fly very well and I was persuaded to make a plan of this model. To see others building , flying and enjoying their RPG's makes the whole 'autogyro experience ' worthwhile for me.
Below are a few photos of some of my autogyros that I have built and flown.

Not sure if this is how to do a Blog, but as I think of things I will add them .

Interesting post and background. I wish I would have gotten into RC when I was 8. Unfortunately I just had to dream about it for 30 years. Finally dabbled with it last year and really got into since July.

Although I did try to build a jet engine out of cambel's soup cans when I was a kid. I didn't have metal working tools to do it successfully but I did make one heck of a flame thrower. It is cool that you have made ones that actually develop thrust.
