futaba usb cable wont work with any sim

Hi all ,

I bought one of those cheap usb cables from ebay to use with my futaba t6exhp (or my esky tx or my walkera tx)
The cable shows up fine in win7.
I goto control panel and calibrates it perfectly fine.

The problem is i then have no control at all in fms or realflight , i even installed the relflex xtr that came with it and even that didnt work.

tx is set to ppm mode

HELP lol

transmitter calibrates in control panel but does not work inside a sim.

It sounds like what you may be saying is that the simulators you've tried don't work well with Windows 7. No real surprise there.

OTOH I've never heard of a "cheap usb cable" that Reflex XTR "came with" and Realflight has never been supposed to work with cheap usb cables so I don't really have much idea what you're talking about.

If you stick to FMS and say what exactly happens when you calibrate WITHIN FMS ITSELF then someone may be able to help.

Maybe the clue is in his user name

XTR like all other top end sims come with their own dedicated interlinked hardware that not only provides a means of controlling the models in the sim, it also provides the copy protection for the software. Reflex don't sell their software to any other company for bundling with other interfaces, so this would be a pirate copy supplied with a "compatible" interface which is attempting to circumvent the copy protection. IF so then the protocol used is different to that used by FMS, which is why you can't calibrate it.

Other than that, they've ripped you off by selling you a copy of XTR which won't work with the supplied interface if the interface is indeed a "standard windows joystick" type interface. IF it is a standard windows joystick emulation then it should work with any Futaba standard transmitter, and any software that supports a joystick interface.

Depending on how much you paid for it, either bin it and invest in a decent retail package of XTR / Phoenix / AFPD etc from a model shop, or look at purchasing any of the standard windows joystick type interfaces from a reputable supplier.
