DX7 and Lipos
I know my hobby shop sells lipos for tranmitters and I almost bought one but something told me to check the manual. It say that using lipos will damamge the radio due to the high volktage of 12.6 on a full charge. It states that the radio was designed to run at no higher than 11 volts. So ar people using the 3 cell lipos? Can you use a 10 volt regulator to cut the power while using lipos in the the transmitter?

Yeah I wasn't looking for a argument I was asking if you could use a voltage regulator to drop the voltage down. I am not reading al those posts sorry. Just looking for a answer that doesnt require me to read a novel about using enloops.

There are various techniques for dropping the voltage using diodes. The point is to do it before it gets to the voltage regulator, as that's what's at risk from too high a voltage.
There's your short, non-novel answer. There's plenty of information about diodes available and it's easily found by a quick search. |

Something tells me it would be a bad idea to power a regulator with a regulator.
If you do run a lipo, and end up leaving the TX on discharging the lipo completely, please use the search function to find answers about reviving it  If you really want to void your warranty http://www.dimensionengineering.com/...ektrum_mod.htm |

most of the "novels with eneloop" also include the voltage regulator mod and other things.

I installed a back light kit to my dx7 along with a lipo pack. I installed a new voltage regulator just like the one in the link and have had no problems to date.
