FlyFly DG1000 wing joiner diameter
I seem to be the only person who got a stainless steel joiner which is only 4.45mm thick for my DG1000. The expanded diagram "manual" shows it to be 6mm carbon, and I have only read anywhere of it being 6mm diameter, whether steel or carbon.
My question is... should I just accept this to be the new specs for this aircraft, or should I try to get a replacement airframe and wings from HobbyKing, if 4.45mm won't be strong enough? thanks in advance |

4.45mm?? WOW!! I get a fair amount of wing waggle with a 6mm rod made from tool steel(Drill rod)that is much more ridgid than normal steel. My mind can't imagine how much flex will be in a 4.45mm rod. You pull into a loop and the wing tip's a going to touch and stay threre.
I would box it up and keep it as it may incease in value in time, kinda like a coin that only got stamped on one side. Ken SSP #6 |
