I've seen Mike run too.. he is really fast! One day I saw him running toward his plane with that "other" brand transmitter above his head screaming "I don't got it!".

My Nitroplanes Starfire can fly 235 mph, that is until I get a radar gun and put a battery in.

What radar gun should I get? Need some links.

Most are for sports and others only go to 200 mph.

I just ordered a radar gun, 0 to 250 mph.

Now we can figure out first hand how the traffic cops cheat on our tickets. LOL

We need to talk to some radar gun experts now, because I suspect the most accurate reading would be head on or going away, right? But, exactly when to take the reading? There are some guns that do continuous readouts and display the fastest reading...too expensive for my taste.. So, with a point and shoot radar setup there has to be one or two readings, right?

This can be very technical...If a jet is just coming out of the base turn to final, it is still accelerating when it passes the foot of the runway, so that time won't be the fastest. If the pilot lets off the throttle toward the end of the runway, that won't be the fastest time either. So, there is lots more science to this then just pointing and shooting. We are just going to end up with average speed, not maximum speed.

Someone educate us (me)

just use an eagletree setup! you can get standalone ones now too and with this there are issues with the aiming of the gun. etc.

Guys,,,,

Beware the Safety Nazi at that Field.... He will not allow anyone to do highspeed passes down the runway,,,, All Passes Must be on the Outside Edge of the Runway with the rampent Cactus and other Obsticles.... So good luck getting a reading with the Radar Guns...

Even Passing Gass must be done out there....
