I'd say that $10 more for a gyro that ways 6 grams less is a bargain. Every gram counts.
I'm still thinking it's his ESC. As in he's got the end points set wrong for them. Last edited by Barak1001; Nov 02, 2009 at 06:49 PM. |

Okay, first thing. I noticed you moving the trim down on your throttle channel. You don't want to do that. When you move the trim it moves the entire range. So it makes it so you have less throttle. When I flew with my stock radio I'd actually push my trim all the way UP once I got the chopper on the ground and ready to fly.
Secondly it looks like the gain on your gyro is set far too low. |

hey man,
I think it's the gyro you are using. The 704B gyro is the worst I've ever tried, not only it freaked out my brushless lama, it's also so much bigger and heavier than the 704A. Besides, if I remember correctly, that thing should be mounted right side up on its bottom, not on the side. I think your problem will be cured once you try a 704A gyro instead. Wish you luck man. I have two brushless coax's - a Lama 3 and an E-Flight. One uses the E-Sky gyro and the other the Telebee. Both work well on mine:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1021612 http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1021609 Make sure you program the ESC ranges INDIVIDUALLY - you can't do both at the same time. You must unplug one, do it, then do the same to the other. If one of your extents is different, that could explain the turning issue. -Rich P.S. Make sure your gyro's not reversed. |

rich95 yes i dont say it wont work but look my gyro is the B version and your is A ( from that what i read on forum the A version works well but the B have some problem.
Can you tell me exacly how to set up the esc turnigy 6a range ? Is it like that : *Set the throttle trim on your receiver to center. *. Unplug one of the ESC servo connectors from the v-tail mixer (it does not matter which one). Turn on your receiver with the throttle all the way down. Plug in the helicopter battery, then move the throttle stick to the full up position after the receiver connects, but hopefully before the ESC tries to arm. *The ESC will make its initialization noise (deedle-dee), two beeps (indicating that it sensed a two cell LiPo battery), and then about fifteen rapid beeps. *Move the throttle to the full down position. Two more beeps indicating that the throttle zero position has been sensed, followed by a single longer beep to indicate that the throttle range has been programmed. *Disconnect the helicopter battery and the servo plug from the v-tail mixer. *Connect the servo plug from the other ESC and repeat the throttle range setting process. *Disconnect the battery and connect both ESCs to the v-tail mixer. Set the throttle trim to zero. Its a shortcut for other thread and its about Pentium esc. Will I find it in the manual from the esc ? cheers |

you pretty much said it. But I think you can leave your throttle stick at MAX when you connect the heli.. and like you said, move it to Lo in 2 seconds after you hear the first tone, before the ESC goes into setup mode.
what kind of TX are you using? I don't recall having have to center the trim in this process... if you have something like the DX6i, you can even play with the endpoint setup from the travel adjustment manual... But seriously, I think your problem will go away once you replace the 704B gyro. I've tried so many different gyros on my brushless lama, and the 704B is the only one that will not work. Not sure what's wrong with that, but it is terrible.. |

The Turnigy ESC and the Hobbywing Pentium are the same part. I've had two of them side by side, circuit board and electronics are identical for them. Only difference between the two is the label.
