Zombie Plan

Nowadays you can't be to prepared, with modern company's ( Avon , Marry Kay) all working on products to keep skin looking health and not ageing has fast soon they will take it to far and the cosmetics that re rive dead skin might just revive the dead.

I had past thought than when this happened I would just hole up at the local armory, It is like a mini fortress there and seems like a good place to wait it out. But what if help never comes. So I have decided that Zombie Plan 12# will include a small stint at the armory ( guns, Hummers ,MRE's, tons of fuel) than a trip up North through the back country ( avoiding large city's altogether) and end up Some Place cold in Canada , or Alaska. There I believe the cold weather will turn them into frozen corpesicles and you can dispatch them with easy.

This is one of my many Zombie Plans for when they try to take over, what are you going to do??

well personally I'd be a little screwed since i'm currently in the heart of a big city. But being the survivalist I am, I'd probably get a crow bar (silent, but deadly with a lot of uses and easy to get), a handgun if i could, and a mountain bike.

Chances are the streets will be filled with cars, so a bike would be able to get through without attracting too much attention and until I get out of the city I'd want to stay light. After that, I'd probably follow what you did, but most likely a LOT of folks will be doing the same.. Tough call..

Good against head crabs, but lets zombies get a bit too close...

Took the words out of my mouth. Personally I think I would go for the shotgun. That was my favorite.

My younger brothers bought "The Zombie Survival Guide" and i couldnt help but page through it (fun read btw).

It says the crow bars are the best because they are very tough, easy to use and have a lot of uses other than just killing zombies. Its supposed to be a close range secondary weapon in case your main (rifle) breaks down or you are in close quarters. best thing is that its quiet and doesnt need ammo (unlike shotguns)

Problem with guns is that they makes lots of noise which attracts more zombies to you and it requires a head shot, which is difficult if you are on the run or scared poopless. Shotgun is good for close quarters, but any any distance the pellets may not penetrate the skull. The best gun is a semi-auto or even a bolt action rifle. Great for keeping zombies at a distance and conserves ammo (unlike automatic weapons), and are very reliable.

and just so you know these are all things from the book...I'm not that paranoid about a zombie uprising

...Humm...I don't know...last full size crow bar I picked up was kinda heavy. I doubt you'll want to swing it that much. How bout a baseball bat? Aluminum...has a nice ring too.

I'm still trying to figure out how to mount a .45 semi auto to my helicopter. If they can't see me, they can't get me. But I've got an ar-15, just in case.

Easy enough to do, and use a servo to pull the trigger. Put a laser sight on the piston and use an FPV setup to fly and aim...

ar-15 will be next to useless. Swing it as a weapon would be better.

..or would the light weight not carry enough inertia to knock his head off?

Maybe really sharp Heli blades, with a super high head speed you could get a nice flying guillotine!

That's true, altho a jab through the eye would make quick work of it.

I like the heli idea. But all that noise would just draw more zombies to you. I guess that's kinda irrelevant if you're already surrounded and have a good fortress..

What do you guys think about shelters??

According to the 'Guide', chainlink fences wouldnt hold up long as zombies pile up on each other. You need something along the lines of a 20 foot concrete wall. But even then if you have enough of them surrounding you, they might eventually be able to start climbing over each other. I guess a little gas/torch would burn the 'zombie ramp' down..

Also would need to be big enough to support you and others. they were actually suggesting an old fashion prison (the ones with solid walls).

And as for solid attack vehicles, an armored car. Some of them are huge and no zombie could get in it..
